it was the most fun shooting this unusual bug as it was just a spec of junk running around. put it back in the garden yesterday to collect more garbage 😊
it wouldnt have a bar of sitting on the plant i had found it on so i just shot it on the sides and top of my glass cube with my new rotating lens system. i now have 7 axis shooting with unrestricted views.
Check out Weekly Abstract and Experimental #8. Fireplace33 posts the most amazing rainbow web images I've ever seen and explains how to do it.

Thanks for the mention :-)
Your image here is really good, the colours come out well with a nice bokeh background too.
In some strands you have all the colours of the rainbow next to each other.
The colours seem to show better if the web strands are slightly defocussed, this spreads out the colour from the very fine strands over many more pixels and makes it easier to see them, so a sort of compromise is needed between sharp and colourful ;-)
I get what you are saying about de-focusing. A few weeks ago a flash of light on the ground caught my eye. It was a piece of broken glass about a 5mm cube with rough surfaces. I tried to take some pictures of the sun reflecting off it but even in the view finder I could see there was very little diffraction compared to what the naked eye sees.
