¡Hola Bryan!, some wonderful colors, that butterfly is truly a beauty. And, even with somewhat complicated backgrounds, very good captures, especially that second one in mid-flight...

    Thanks doc.

Way back when I got my FZ300, I managed a couple of quite good captures of a Monarch. Then for ages I struggled to get any the same even with m43. Not sure if this correct, but it seems that as they age their colours fade and they get a lot of marks on their wings. So getting a younger one probably helps a lot.
I don't mind the Lantana flowers and leaves but the branches are all over the place. Saving grace is a long tele for closeups?

Spectacular color. Can't be easy shooting under water.

Very nice image. And the lighting effect to highlight the textures and colors of these small wonders of nature is very interesting...

    Hands up!

    IMG_1231.jpeg

This one is not small at all, but it is really peculiar, due to its ungainly structure and its wobbly way of moving. I had never come across one, and it seemed very striking...

I missed this one! Stick insects are pretty awesome. Haven't seen one for a long time but that could be due to their excellent camouflage...

Well... Two warmer days and there are a few about! Rather lucky here to get one of the more difficult zoomy species (Australian Emperor) to pause up close... The background is not sky but its reflection in darkish brown water.

About Bryan: waiting for a late season icy blast to go away! Also waiting to see if that shot was a total fluke or whether I can replicate it with the G9M2. Most shots of DIF are a fluke to some degree - it's a numbers game...

His site doesn't allow full screen / 100% viewing so I can't see what level of detail he has achieved - but the pics look nice.

It took a bit to find the right viewing position but was worth the effort to be able to see down through those crystals... Very nice

After a long time chasing it from flower to flower like an idiot, I changed tactics: I chose a flower, focused the camera, stayed still and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited...
