From a distance it looks like a wasp but, when you get close enough, you can see it's a fly in disguise. A "Xanthogramma pedissequum" I think... -
He is a colorful one. You captured a fabulous image. Didn't occur to me he was an imposter, until you mentioned it.

A few days ago, a forum member commented that it is sometimes difficult to get an idea of the size of the objects we photograph.
Today I came across an image that turned out to be unsuccessful (lack of DoF and focus)……but it will be useful to give an idea of the size of what we photograph sometimes…
