Do that variety sway back and forth imitating a twig in a breeze?
They mostly do nothing. They just look like twigs. They are still for very long periods. I was about to swept this guy off the wall and realized he was not a real stick.
Very pretty Bryan, I especially like the look of the wings, the reticulated structure and its almost "plastic" coating…
These bugs are truly amazing and, as Bryan mentioned, if we don't see more of them it's possibly because of their incredible camouflage...
As much as I would prefer to think of them as glass rather than plastic, similar to what I mentioned about Monarch wings, Dragonfly wings are very shiny and see-through when they first emerge. Over time they become less so from marks and scratches and bits go missing from predators trying to catch them. So I find them more photogenic at that earlier age.
