You have this crab spider a little higher up. It's curious how you can find them on the same flower day after day...

    IMG_0267.jpeg

Fantastic image. Very clean composition. Interesting about finding them on the same flower. Dragonflies definitely do that. They make a quick trip right back to their same perch.

They claim bug populations are in decline. Have you found this to be true?
    Thanks for sharing,

Thank you so much, that marigold has been a real treasure (I think it's the same one in the first photo of the tread, when it was still a bud).
The second comment is funny, because the other day a more experienced colleague told me the same thing, and that not so long ago it was very easy to find one of these little spiders on any flower...

    Hey, the male!

    IMG_0399.jpeg

Having pics of both male and female is nice. He sure didn't get the colors like she did!

It's very interesting when there are so many differences between males and females, they often seem like different species...

Not that small thing, but not big either. I can't identify this bee-like insect, sorry.

I can't help you with the species. I usually ask Google, but this time it's not clear.
What's certain is that it's a beautiful image, with stunning colors. Thank you for sharing…

Well, a little plant, after so many bugs. This one, with so little focus, could almost go to the weekly abstracts.
    I think it's a "Cardamine hirsuta"...

    Bombus muscorum.
As I told you a few days ago, I can only take good photos of these not-so-little ones if I find them asleep...

Super image. Nothing wrong with documenting their naps. Otherwise, they are difficult to photograph. I sure don't have much luck.

    Thank you for your comment.
Yes, a good-sized specimen. My fingers are right underneath, holding the stem to keep the wind from moving it, and I was more worried about it waking up than taking the photo 😬

Thanks Doctor. The species is new to me and I like the colours too.

Autumn is generally our wettest time of year and last few weeks (months) have been pretty bad for photography. Yesterday was the first day in ages that I managed to get out and find something worthwhile.

Just got back from today's trek and downloading as I speak...

I wasn't too sure if today would produce anything much because they weren't staying still for long. I felt the conditions were otherwise good and I feel privileged to have captured these. The first one has a piece of grass in the foreground but I couldn't go past the eye colour...

    What's up, Bryan?
In the first one, that blade of grass not only doesn't bother me, but I think it gives it an interesting touch. And the second one... that second one is just gorgeous.
