Another small hoverfly…

A Crane fly with red eyes.

A good specimen.
“Típulas” are tricky subjects to photograph: the large ones have a nice structure, but they tend to frequent areas with thick vegetation and often result in somewhat chaotic compositions. Here's one with green eyes...

The smaller ones have less detail, but i think they usually offer more interesting or, at least, cleaner compositions...

With these tiny subjects, I often wonder if it's even worth taking out the camera because I know in advance there won't be much detail to work with. Then, when I see these small worlds on screen, I'm glad I took the shot...

Well, I did a Google search and, apparently, there are several subspecies with black or red legs. And they are described as red with black stripes.
To avoid further confusion, I'm uploading a green one with black details. Or a black one with green parts... 😆

Black eyes…

These are super restless, very fast, I've never been able to get close to one before. I think this one had come out onto the warm sheet metal looking for a bit of warmth on a cool morning, and it gave me a chance before disappearing...

it seems some kind of earwig. Around here, as kids, we called them "cortapichas", dick cutters 😄
