Hi. Bought my RX10 IV in 2018 and use it heavily. The last two photo shoots there were several solid black pictures taken. This last time there were 31 straight. Does anyone know what is causing this? Has it happened to anyone else?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

This happened to me with my X-T5 (I know, it's not a Sony) when I had an SD card that wasn't fast enough. Could that be your issue?

I guess it's possible. But I have been using the same card and settings for a long time and haven't had it happen. Although, I may have recently changed my drive mode to high. I'll do some testing to see if there is difference between high and mid continuous shooting. - Thanks!

If you haven't already done so, it might be worth formatting the card (which will erase everything, so make sure you've retrieved all images first) in case there's something amiss with the file directory on the card.

Along similar lines, it could be worth trying a different card to see if you still get some black frames. Both would help to shed light on whether the issue is card-related or whether there's something amiss with your camera.

Hi - I format my card every single time I take pictures off before I use it again. But...I hadn't thought of using a different card and will try that. Thanks for your suggestion!
