I see yours is the silver one as well .
It was also my first dSLR that I bought when it first came out so I could continue using my Minolta lenses on it .
I bought mine from the Argos chain in the U.K , I would have gone for the black ones in the camera shops, but they were asking over £100 extra for them .
They claimed to do a price match, but reckoned the camera was a lower specification, which was BS !
    So silver it was .
The 18-70mm kit lens that came with it was a poor effort , but I soon upgraded it to the Carl Zeiss 16-80mm .
I still have the camera and it still works well , the CCD sensor has a nice output .
I tend to use my Minolta Dynax 7d more than that one when I'm giving a older gear a run out .

I considered this camera once but only because it was compatible with the only 500mm mirror lens to use an autofocus system, the Minolta AF Reflex 500mm f/8. I shot a Canon 350D at the time and followed that up with the Canon 40D instead of going with Sony.

If I understand correctly, your Minolta Dynax 7d still works. You are lucky, my two copies refuse to work.
A very common problem with this beautiful camera.

Yes , it still works well .
Regular use seems to help keep FFB at bay , though I do need to get some new batteries for it .

I'm jealous, it is so a beautiful camera this Minolta 7D, and so pleasant to hold in hand.
