I was minding my own business, waiting for tires to be installed at Costco. I walked through the parking lot on my way to wait at the beach when this caught my eye. I immediately thought of Andrew's excellent automotive photography and realized I had a chance to top him....not with skill but with subject. Keep in mind that the U.S. is tilted slightly toward the west and everything loose rolls to California.
    Eat your heart out, Andrew.

Hell no, Paul. After I made the pictures I put on shades and kept a low profile. 🕵 Rich

Strange, I had to try about 10 times before I could reply here. The textarea you type in was blinking and the cursor turned into a stop sign. I thought I was banned or something.

Yeah, I know, Paul, but girls will pout if you don't let them get away with at least a few shenanigans. It's best to let them think they have free will and they will stay happy. 🥳 Rich

Not my car, WhyNot. I just made the pictures. I think you want one. My, how that would go over in The Tennessee Valley. 🤔 Or not.

Well that begs some serious questions Rich. What where they on and where did they get it? Never mind, I am too old for that! No trouble finding your car in the lot, unless of course your are still on what ever it was!

Interesting to see but I don't want it!

When I got up this morning my wife showed me a bullseye mark on her leg from a tick bite. She removed the tick with tweezers. No doctors to be found in this country thanks to serious neglect of the health care system by politicians that don't know how to fix things. Health care here is a provincial responsibility with some funding from the federal government. Conservative governments here are right leaning and thus don't want to spend money. They also have no idea how to fix problems. In any case, we ended up driving to Hagersville Hospital emergency department tonight to see a doctor. In larger centres than where we live there are other options but out in the sticks the only real option for urgent medical attention is going to a hospital. Wait times at the emergency department in Simcoe, closer to us than Hagersville, are often ten hours or more. We spent less than 2 h in Hagersville so it ended up being a good choice, but not a fun way to spend a Saturday evening. Lime disease here is a serious issue and not something you want to have happen to you.

Everyone here that is not a politician knows from experience that the health care system is in crisis. The division of responsibilities between provincial and federal governments ends up in a lot of finger pointing but no answers.

I tried to get some flower images this morning but it was still too windy to stack and my back was too sore to bend low enough to get anything good so I gave up. Maybe tomorrow!

Damn ticks! I hate those things, Andrew. I've never got one here on the coast, but inland where it's hot they are everywhere. I hope Mrs. D. isn't infected with Lyme Disease from it.

I got a couple of daffodils today at The Humboldt Rose Society garden. I went to see if they had put the roses back outside yet, and they haven't.
Here are a couple of daffs to tide you over.
I used the floppy screen and only had to bend over half way and that still hurt.
That reminds me. I used to know a used car salesman called Al Bendova. Rich

I'm a great believer in freedom of expression and that variety is the spice of life but some people take it too far as in this case.
Now remember Rich to drive your Kia gently on its new tyres. No burn outs or donuts for a little while.😄

    Andrew

Sorry to here about Mrs D and her tick bite. Lyme disease is on the increase over here. When I started hiking over 40 years ago it was almost unheard of but it's different now. I've been bitten a few times but not every tick carries the disease fortunately. No more shorts in the summer for me.

Hope your good lady suffers no ill effects.

All that crap would look just as good on your Renault, Dave. My Kia has a manual transmission and it will do burnouts, but you must turn off the traction control to let it spin the tyres. I bought the same Michelin tires as last time, 5 years ago, and they cost 50% more due to inflation. That $200 would have bought a nice jug of whisky. 😢 Rich

Sorry about Mrs D's need for health care and your lack of it in Canada, Andrew.

Yeah, hope it goes well. Ticks should be eradicated. At least you guys don't have TBE (yet). I think we have at least 6 diseases spread by ticks. The latest being something called "meat allergy", you can't any longer eat meat from mammals. Some are also affected by milk and milk products. What a sad life!

It's strange humans can get vaccinated against TBE (I'll take my refill shot any day now), but there are no such vaccine for dogs. Dogs on the other hand can get vaccinated against lyme whereas we can't.

I would not want to be inside it, Roy. Lots of sharp decorations inside, too. In a collision it would be like being inside a cheese grater, and you would be the cheese. Rich
