. It makes speed reading imposable.

It does look pretty but also a bit confusing x
Oh, you mean STRIPED - not stripped. I was confused...
Dark mode looks different.
Alan
I much prefer the original (plain vanilla) light mode view.
All of the other colors “flash” when surfing this site, and remind me too much of the 1990s lol
I don't think we'll ever please everyone.
I agree about the flashing. I don't like it.

It looks pretty and easy to find what you want but as Greg said it doesn't benefit scanning or speed reading. Luckily I'm a slow reader so I don't mind lol

I once knew a girl named Paige, and yes, very distracting when she stripped
At first I was briefly wondering what have they done. But that is just my older age resistance to change.
I quickly saw it as an extra visual que to delineating posts when I am scrolling. Sure the avatar and name is there on the left but the alternate shades takes less eye / brain time to process.
So a (+) from me...
Me too, but it would be nice if the highlight were pale blue and alternated every three lines. Some of you are old enough to remember what it would look like then.
If you mean "impossible" I don't have this issue. OTOH it's the missing information that you find in most forums that's an issue for me:
• Name of the OP?
• When the thread started? I would prefer to have a date and time rather than "certain time ago".
• Did I read it?
• Did I answer it?
• Is it still open or closed?
It would be nice if the site added them.
Nick
Please comment on suggestions for thread list "stripes", gathered from this and some other threads (can't add a poll here):
Maybe we can found some common ground to please majority of users.
Currently it will not be possible to add some "theme configurator", where user can [un]check design options. Maybe in some (not very near) future :)
White text on a light green or yellow background is difficult to read.
David
Where is that?
Use New Style "origin" if you donnt like "striped" 😉
E.g. Nikon

Origin still displays posts as alternating light gray and white backgrounds. Is that what it's supposed to do? The thread list is now all white background.
I don't like "striped" and would prefer all white.
