Very nice scene but the water looks way over sharpened, especially when I view it full size.

Here it is with no sharpening in the downsampling process:

And here it is with minimum sharpening in the downsampling process:

The water still looks over sharpened in those two for my liking, even without zooming in. The sharpening looks similar to what I see sometimes when I push the sharpening too far in Topaz's Denoise or Sharpen.

If you like the look of the water that's fine. How much sharpening one applies is subjective to a large extent.

How much sharpening did you apply before downsizing?

Great photo and the water looks fine to me although I am not one of those purists who seem obsessed with zooming in to pixel level just to see how sharp it is :)

Viewing an image "full size" is not necessarily zooming in and/or pixel peeping.

Prompted by the title, I thought that the subject was the rower, not the water and not the shore+buildings.

I thought the rower was the subject as well. So what?

If the water looks ok on your screen, that's fine. I just called it as I see it.

That's ok xpat. I wasn't requesting one because we are in agreement about what the subject of the photo is.
