Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. With the announced shuttering of DPReview (which did not happen), the last Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! landed here at its new home on 9 April 2023.

    Princely Kitty of the Week!

Eyes closed while basking in the sun this big kitty lies resplendently in this autumn colored meadow. :)

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us."

“Official” posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don’t accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras welcome. Images from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge where nice comments abound and only constructive criticism is given when it's requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for business. :D

    Thread Manager's Corner:
Thanks again to all who visited, posting both images and comments. It's all very welcome, especially as I continue to be absent lately. Today I am posting a little early, basically because once I got my computer started, finally (video outage, the new drivers didn't work), I didn't want to risk turning it off or even putting it to sleep until this week was posted. I'm also currently tied up with 11 performances and rehearsals over 12 days of the "Wizard of Oz" so I'm even more short on time than usual. (Long show, three hours!) Thus solving computer problems is being kicked down the road again. :( So on that note, soon I will be off to see the wizard, and hope to see the kitties here later on. :)

    Hi,

This is Lilly. She was found hiding in a culvert alongside the road. Obviously over that trauma in this pic. But, I can't recall when we found her exactly. About 1998 or so. She was a very friendly kitty. She disappeared her on the farm Labor Day 2005. The neighbors had a family reunion at our spot downhill alongside the Cape Fear river. And, I think someone simply stopped along our access road and picked her up. At least, I hope so anyway. It was either that or something got her.

    Cathy, our newly adopted cat.

A Bengal, she's very ferocious; she always hisses and attacks our existing cats when their paths cross.

Hopefully they can get friendly soon or I might have to give her up. 😥

    Hi,

Hmmm. I get the idea here was to show that the kittens, with an S, have magically morphed into a single, um, kitten...

It's like the tracks I used to follow in the snow as a kid. Bunny tracks lead to bush. Fox tracks lead to bush. Fox tracks lead away from bush. Where's the bunny? He's no longer in said bush....

Lucas' little flash of white on his nose is certainly a distinctive feature, making him easy to identify. It looks like he is doing well on the farm. I hope he provides good service in managing the rodents. ;)

It seems that all your kitties show such loving looks. I guess that is a reflection of the love that they have received.

I agree with Stan. One does have to wonder at where the 'S' in kittens went. :)

When I have introduced a new kitty to the household, I have given them a room of their own for a while, so that everyone can get a sense (scent) of one another and have some time to adjust. Once let into the house, that introductory room can remain a safe retreat for the new kitty. She's so beautiful I hope that the kitties can work it out. We'd love to see more photos of Cathy in the future. :D

I've let myself get behind on things so I will post the 29th later this evening. It may even be the 29th in my time zone when I do!
