Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. With the announced shuttering of DPReview (which did not happen), the last Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! landed here at its new home on 9 April 2023.

    Observant Kitty of the Week!

    I know you're there!

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us."

“Official” posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don’t accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras welcome. Images from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge where nice comments abound and only constructive criticism is given when it's requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for business. :D

    Thread Manager's Corner:
I may finally be past my video problems. After some experimenting, I came to the conclusion that there was a problem with the docking station. After removing that and connecting the VGA cable directly to the computer, no more video failures! Today the DVI-D to HDMI cable that I ordered arrived and now I'm using the DVI connection again. Much clearer than VGA. :)

I can also see clearly that this is time change weekend for a number of localities. Don't forget to reset your camera clock! Looking ahead to shorter days and longer nights, our kitties are getting ready to show off their night vision superpower. :) Meanwhile we'll try to keep up with fast lenses and high ISOs. ;) Please note that next week I'll probably post very late, after midnight my time or maybe very early, whichever will work best around my schedule.

I always have to admire your patience and skill in capturing these kitties at just the right moment, maybe we should all it the "decisive moment." Right when they are all in to whatever has captured their attention. :)

I was visiting a local historic cemetery the other week, just before Halloween. ;)

    Hi,

This is another shop cat from the screenprinting shop. Tigger. AKA Mr Boneless Kitty. The way this worked, was my wife lived there. House in front and shop in back. When we got married, Pepsi (last week) stayed and Tigger came to live with us in my house. Then, we moved all the office type stuff out of the shop and into the house and bought some more equipment. After a couple years, we bought this farm and sold my house.

What happened to Tigger is he disappeared. A few days later, we spotted him in a neighbor's yard. He was a love bug and wound up adopted by their young daughter. We called him, and he came but the daughter became distraught at the idea that he really hadn't been a stray. So, we left him with her.

Tigger reminds me a lot of Bugsy.

He was from Cali's last litter. I did not give him his name. That came from the woman who rescued Cali, had her fixed and then found homes for her last litter except for Bugsy, who she kept. As a kitten she thought that he was such a gangster that she named him Bugsy Siegel! He was a big kitty, tall, dark and handsome. Despite his tough guy reputation, he was every bit as loving as his mom.

    Hi,

Let me guess. Bugsy would make you an offer you can't refuse. Get on your lap and do happy feet with sharp claws. :)
