    Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. With the announced shuttering of DPReview (which did not happen), the last Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! landed here at its new home on 9 April 2023.

    Self-Respectful Kitty of the Week!

    Street Cat of Istanbul

    Despite the somewhat rough exterior, this kitty's pride steps out from the picture at you. :)

    ~~Image by @Kumsal

    As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us."

    “Official” posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don’t accidentally double post.

    Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras welcome. Images from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge where nice comments abound and only constructive criticism is given when it's requested.

    The Sunday Cat! is now open for business. :D

    Last week's purrs, #839 / DPRv #32

    Thread Manager's Corner:
    It was another quiet week, in fact, the quietest since coming here to DPRv. But then we're close to a number of holidays and even though this week's Thanksgiving holiday is US thing, the next day Black Friday shopping "holiday" has become a world wide phenomenon. :) Maybe new gear is just around the corner, and our kitties will be there to help test it! ;)

    ~~~ Kim
    Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.
    This is my dog Ravi giving pussy cat Bandit some side eye. And Bandit's brother Smokey (I didn't name them)
    All was well as Ravi was growing up because Smokey was placid and didn't react to the dogs. However Bandit was very much the attack cat and attacked Ravi one day. After that, Ravi was in chase mode if the cats dared run, but Bandit had her psyched out.
    A cease fire was declared jointly by Mokey on the left and Lexi. The two of them share an uneasy peace which is
    disturbed by a sideways glance, an unwelcome advance by one or the other, or perhaps deciding their human is paying too much
    attention to the other. Difficult to say exactly. Their play often seems more like a WWE matchup.
    It seems that uneasy co-existence is the theme today. :)
    Hi,
    Maw dang. I don't think I have any shots of the uneasy truce to post.
    Love bugs, why sure! Arni on the left and Lexi were littermates and we adopted both. Arni and Mokey get along just fine, Lexi and Mokey - only when the stars and the moon align.
    I guess Lexi's position is: "There's only room in this house for one grey cat -- and I don't care that you were here first!
    Yes, once dad performs he duties, his doesn't really need to stick around. ;)
    I see another set of gray kitty ears in the background, so Mokey at least participated, but with his back to the camera. ;) In any case, aw, so cute!!! :D
    Hi,
    Looks more like they are laying in front of a mirror.
    I've posted this before but the image is from the film era (taken in late 2006 or early 2007) so I don't have many like this.
    Infinity-026_23A-24-2.jpg
    This is Cali (left) with her buddy Sheila (in the sweater). Cali absolutely doted on Sheila. Towards the end of her life, Sheila developed a skin ailment that caused her fur to fall out. Cali, being the loving kitty that she was, would constantly groom Sheila, accelerating the hair loss and giving Cali something of a hairball problem. Thus the sweater. :)
    Today is Thanksgiving day in the US. However, I think wherever we are we can be thankful for our kitties, and the friends who love them and share their images and stories here. :)
    Yes, there is a mirror in back of them. Mokey was busy elsewhere.
