    Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! landed here at its new home on 9 April 2023.

    Pre-Shorn Kitty of the Week!

    Stripey before

    Stripey, prior to suffering the indignity of shearing necessitated by an injury. Palmer sends his condolences. Back at the beginning of March he suffered a similar indignity and has been struggling ever since to replace all the fur that was shaved away. šŸ˜

    As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us."

    ā€œOfficialā€ posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I donā€™t accidentally double post.

    Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras welcome. Images from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge where nice comments abound and only constructive criticism is given when it's requested.

    The Sunday Cat! is now open for business. :D

    Last week's purrs, #861 / DPRv #54

    Thread Manager's Corner:
    It was another quiet week, in fact, the pointer to this thread back at DPR was more active! Maybe it's Jake making all kinds of noise over there that is attracting attention. ;) I am still fixated on Palmer. Once again he cheated death last weekend and has done quite well this week. Despite the indignity of his own shearing and his ever weakening state, he clearly is not yet ready to go. So I will remain distracted as I help him live out his remaining days.

    ~~~ Kim
    Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.
    And now some good news. At the beginning of the year I switched to the subscription version of Lightroom and also started using a new computer. I am still working between my old Win7 PC and newer Mac Mini so I moved my photo library to an external shared drive. That hasn't worked as well as I thought and at some point I found that I couldn't access the drive from the PC but could from the Mac. In desperation I bought another external drive to copy my library to with a plan to reformat the shared drive and copy the library back in order to make it accessible from the PC again. Well, somehow the problem resolved itself and I can now access the shared drive from either machine, although I have to make sure the drive is disconnected from one before I connect it to the other. Owing to that I can now share photos again!
    This one of Palmer was taken this morning. These days he's spending most of his time snoozing, but for a brief time I was able to get him to give me some of his time for a photo. :)
    I particularly like the one of Alex. You can really see how the prickles on his tongue help to clean his fur!
    These days Coffee sleeps a lot, it is difficult to capture a moment she is not sleeping.
    However, she looks like a really sweet sleeping princess.
    Thanks. I feel so fortunate to have gotten that one. I love his eyes too. I'm really going to miss them once they are closed forever.
    Nice set! Wonderful detail in the one of Alex grooming. Lucas looks a little devilish there! Malcabresto looks too sweet to be living up to the name!
