    Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! landed here at its new home on 9 April 2023.

    Purr-fect Kitty of the Week!

    Street Cats of Istanbul

    This wonderful image is something to look at and simply enjoy. Both for the quality of the image and the exquisiteness of the kitty. :)

    As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

    “Official” posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don’t accidentally double post.

    Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras welcome. Images from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge where nice comments abound and only constructive criticism is given when it's requested.

    The Sunday Cat! is now open for business. :D

    Last week's purrs, #868 / DPRv #61 Revisit this one to see some of last week's touching moments. You'll be glad you did. ;)

    Thread Manager's Corner:
    I realized a little while ago that with a late arrival back home tonight, and an early call for work the next morning, I would be better off posting early today, so there you are! Now with that said, summer for all us northern hemisphere folks is nearly here and spring kittens are growing up. Let's hope we begin to see more of their antics on these pages as we test the abilities of our cameras to capture them. ;)

    ~~~ Kim
    Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.
    We had our first really hot day today. Our Maine Coon goes belly up in the heat.
    I am always awed by these captures and the purposefulness of the kitties in the images, not to mention the image quality.
    Hi,
    Just an update on the three new kittens. They are doing well, eating, sleeping and playing - not necessarily in that order!
    At that age all the things they do can be amusing. Sleep is one of my favorites. That's where they're awake one second and then in the next the head has just dropped and they're fast asleep! Palmer was a little like that at the end. Sometimes he'd be so tired his head would just drop and he might end up sleeping on his nose!
    I love cats and I think they sense it somehow.
    Most of the time they feel very relaxed in my presence.
    Other than that I have no explanation as to why I can get so close to them.
