Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

What unusual colouring he has

She's a calico with tabby instead of black. Really nice, strong coloration! Bandita?

I keep seeing the same cat in these photos.

Very nice, the cat looks great.
But the blue color in the cat's fur looks somehow wrong.

It’s the same pic, don’t know what happens, I upload several but only the first appears…….need to know the app better

What happens is that when you upload pics the thumbnails counter-intuitively appear on the left. You click on the right one to add it (thinking it's the last added) and end up adding the same one over and over. Watch the filenames as you add them and you can see what I mean.

You can edit your post. Delete all the gobbledygook text and then re-add them as required.

I agree and I went back and reworked the image.

Shouldn't we switch to monthly cat?
There are simply too few posts per week.
Then we would all have time for better photos.
I could manage 12 good photos in a year!
What do you think?

No weekly is fine. It encourages me to find or make a cat shot.

I've thought about it but because we don't have the kind of threading here that we did at DPR, I think monthly could get too long and hard to follow. I know that was a reason some folks reverted back to DPR when it was saved by Gear Patrol.

Also, I have sad experience with a weekly thread that eventually disappeared. We kept on lengthening the interval but it only seemed to result in fewer postings and made the competition ineffective, so it ceased to be. When I saw the Sunday Cat! going down the same path as the Olympus Challenge, I decided to try to keep it going as it was and not change the structure. So far at least it's working, even if there are some slow weeks now and then.

Thanks for explaining how to post multiple images. I knew how to fix it when they didn't display properly, but I didn't know how to explain how to prevent it from happening in the first place.

I missed the bluer version of the kitty, but in my experience I've often found the Olympus cameras not handling open shade as well as I think they should. (The E-3 especially.) Then again, you could have just titled it "Am I Blue" and added this link. ;)

I know that the others would be nameless, but isn't the first one Lucas? I notice for the first time that he apparently has white whiskers over one eye and black ones over the other, which we can't see, like Mini-Me. And the second kitty is interesting with the mix of black and white whiskers on the muzzle. I also noticed that the second one was taken at 560mm! Is that the 100-400 with 1.4x TC? Image stabilization is a wonderful thing to have. :)

A beggar of sorts, but I think the kitty is wanting attention more than your cash. :D
