Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

Thread Manager's Corner:
It's not been a good week for Mr. Me. His problems have become more serious, and more threatening to his eyes, necessitating an emergency clinic visit Friday. Coming up on Tuesday he goes in for a complete workup to find out if there is some other underlying cause. Mr. Me of course is less than thrilled to take another long trip by car. He fails to recognize how lucky he is to be living less than an hour's drive from a major veterinary school. In honor of all his medical expenses, today a friend of mine gave Mr. Me a new nickname, The Million Dollar Cat. :) (Well, we're not THERE yet. Not even close!)

Here's hoping! At least his eyes are a little better today with the new drugs he got Friday.

Oh no! I've been seen!!!

In case no one has noticed, since we get limited EXIF data here that could be the case, this and the last few images I've posted come from my newest (old) lens, the Olympus ZD35-100 f/2. I've long wanted this lens, and long avoided it because of its weight. It is a bit of a carry, but it is amazing, and these days, affordable. Of course I got this just before Mr. Million Dollar Cat's healthcare bills escalated. ;)

Cowboy is an old streetfighter caught by the city animal control in Nashville and adopted by my son. Cowboy is a lazy bum who does not miss the rough and tumble of street life.

Isn't that the ultimate goal of every cat in the world, to become a lazy bum? He certainly looks as though he is still someone you would not want to mess with!

Mr. Me appreciates the wishes. Right now, things are teetering on the edge. It helps with the balance. :)

Birdwatching, a kitty passion. While Mr. Me can still see, like Micio, he spends much of his time watching the bird activities around his home.

Cowboy definitely has the signs of a rough life before he found a good home. And apparently the savvy street fighter in him knows when to call time. He's a lucky kitty for sure.

Mr. Me says thanks! We're approaching six months now in the battle to save his eyes. While his life has been turned upside down by this, at least he still has sunny days to look forward to like this kitty, where he can just bask in the sunshine. :)

Unfortunately, nothing conclusive from this week's exam. There are some test results still pending though. But at this point, Mr. Me's crisis remains an enigma.
