    Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

    Ready Kitty of the Week!

    Doris

    Doris, I've got the toys if you've got the time! ;)

    As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

    “Official” posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don’t accidentally double post.

    Come one, come all! Remember, all cats, all cameras welcome. Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

    The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Last week's purrs, #921 / DPRv #113 / Sunday Cats! #13

    Thread Manager's Corner:
    In just a few days those of us in the northern hemisphere will be crossing over into summer. A special time of year for the sun worshippers in our lives. ;) Along with summer coming, Mr. Me is close to regaining his freedom from the confinement he's endured for almost two weeks. He has a visit with his eye doctor on Tuesday where the stiches will be removed, his healing evaluated and his remaining eye assessed. He continues to have some level of vision in his left eye. Enough so that he sees exactly where his food dish is when I set it down. ;) It's unlikely the eye will get better, but even though it is quite compromised he seems to successfully navigate the world without having binocular vision anymore. In other words, he's kind of like us when we put the camera viewfinder up to our eye. :D Here's hoping for a little viewfinder magic in the week ahead. ;)

    ~~~ Kim
    Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.
    Thank you! Here's hoping that he's gone through the worst of the trial.
    Interesting combination of roundness here. The kitty with his or her legs tucked in, making for a rounded appearance, with the round rings around the neck, all while sitting comfortably on a round cushion. Perfect. :)
    Hi,
    Well, that cat could tear up that cage and escape any time it wants. ;)
    We put flea collars on the three kittens today. It was their first time now they are big enough. Jack was chill about it. Sammy was a little squirming. Doris tore me up a bit.
    It has suddenly got very hot here in Italy. Micio has taken up some strange sleeping postures.
    Shows y'all what I know!
    I personally have always found female kitties to be more feisty than males.
    Sorry, if this kind of pictures doesn't belong to this thread...
    Niusia left us one year ago on 19th. June, 2024. A few hours after she passed away, while my wife and I were talking about her, one of the 3 light bulbs
    suddenly burned out.
    RIP - Niusia...
    Nothing inappropriate at all! She was obviously a cherished member of your family, and we enjoy the opportunity to share all your memories of her, even the sad ones. I can't help but believe that the lightbulb incident was her final farewell before she made her way across The Rainbow Bridge. I had a similar one with one of my kitties (too involved to explain here).
    I forget, have you any feline family members now?
    p.s. the kitty figurine is charming. Has it any special significance?
    Thank you for these kind words!
    For several reason I don't have a cat at the moment. The main reason is that I'm not yet mentally ready to have one.
    The kitty figurine reminds me of Niusia...
