Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

“Official” posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don’t accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! Remember, all cats, all cameras welcome. Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Last week's purrs, #926 / DPRv #119 / Sunday Cats! #18

    Thread Manager's Corner:
It was a quiet week at the Sunday Cat! but not for Mr. Me. He received his first chemo treatment this past Thursday and thus far seems to be tolerating it well. He's also become a pretty good traveler the last few weeks, putting up with one hour to one and a half hour drives back and forth to the clinic. He'll get more practice with that this coming Thursday for a checkup, then he gets to see his eye doctor the week after. Busy guy! ;) A while back a friend of mine called Mr. Me the million dollar cat. Well, he hasn't been that expensive, but he's definitely in Leica territory. :) We're hoping everyone else stays well and enjoys the summer days.

Nice to hear Mr Me is at least stable, best wishes.

Thanks! He seems to be handling it all pretty well considering he lost one eye at the beginning of the summer, and at best has only clouded vision in the remaining eye. He gets out of life what he can.

    You think I am resting

Micio looks like he is resting, but any insect that wanders onto the balcony is risking a lot. The other day he seemed asleep, but sprung to life when a cicada landed on the parapet . He spends most of his time here at the moment.

    Hi,

With his safety net there, he looks like a very fuzzy spider. ;)

Is there a kitty who ever didn't want to look out the door or window over his or her domain? :)

Mr. Me quite startled me the other day. He was resting in his cardboard box by the back door. I heard the noise of the phoebe that has been inhabiting the yard, and then suddenly the sound of the screen door being rattled. Turns out the phoebe must have been close enough to the door that Mr. Me decided to try to get it! I'm glad for the screen that kept him from doing that, but also glad that he still has the urge to behave as a cat would, because sometimes he seems to be beaten down by all that has happened to him.
