Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! Remember, all cats, all cameras welcome. Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Thread Manager's Corner:
We had some special visits last week, and I hope we'll have some more in the week ahead! Looking over my shoulder at DPReview, it appears that many of the older Sunday Cat! posts there have lost contact with their original images. I'm hoping that's something that will be worked out over time as they apparently are still migrating images to the new site. A lot of history there that I would hate to see lost. Meantime, we can make more history here with visitors in the week ahead. Old friends and new friends, any kitty, any time. :)

Cute! :) In a way not too far from the games I just came home with. The band I play with does a raffle in December and we donate things to make up baskets for the raffle. After shopping a bit I ended up with a set of cat themed games, Exploding Kittens, Cat Stax and Cobra Claw. ;)

Jake is more than a dog, he's a dachshund.

It is the 150-400mm. The only lens you will ever need--excellent lens that allows the photographer to remain at a safe distance from the criminal element.

The "painting" of the bandito is wonderful. The treatment of his nose is a bit jarring, with all the tiny dibblets of color, but otherwise the app(?) did a great job.

One thing I've learned in a lifetime of having cats: there's no such thing as typical cat behavior. A long time ago, my then roommate and I had 3 cats. We always told people they were as different as day and night and I don't know what. Miss I-D-K-W, was a purebred Maine Coon of "reject" quality. A sweetie much of the time. But she could go psycho at times. Once I was sitting on the floor, working on a craft project. She decided to attack -- and not in fun. In trying to fend off her repeated attacks, I unthinkingly swung at her with the scissors I was holding. Realizing I could have seriously injured her, I got up and locked her in the bathroom.

One of the other two of that trio started out as an only cat, and was very aloof. When the second kitty joined the family (not the psycho Coonie) cat #1 suddenly became a lap cat, something she had never been before. Takes all kinds!
