Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

    Outstanding Kitty of the Week!

Another wonderful image of one of the fortunate kitties of Istanbul. :)

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! Remember, all cats, all cameras welcome. Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Thread Manager's Corner:
We have reached the last day of November, and for those who celebrate, the last day of Black Friday shopping. :) If there is any money left, Cyber Monday is coming up! Mr. Me enjoyed his turkey and gravy this past Thursday, so much so that he's now shunning his chicken canned food, or so it seems. However, he very much enjoys a mix of turkey flavored baby food with his dry food, so in order to better accommodate him right now I got some more jars of this new favorite. His chemo from a couple of weeks ago really brought him down and he hasn't bounced back yet, so I'm giving him whatever works. As we head into the last month of the year, we hope all the other kitties and their people stay well and have many good moments together!

    Hi,

Well, yesterday the Missus dragged me to Hobby Lobby where I spotted.Doris, Jr here:

Oh, and an older (not taken today) shot of the real Doris:

I love the s-shaped pose here with her fitting herself into the space, then looking away from the window, presumably momentarily, for her photo. :)

    Hi,

Doris is jealous or Doris, Jr. Mom had it sitting on the end table next to her chair. Doris jumped up, sniffed it, knocked it to the floor, and got onto Mom's lap.

    Hi,

Well, Sammy just came in with something from outside. We couldn't tell what it was. Usually she has a bug of some sort, but too cold here for.bugs today. She also likes geckos, but again, too cold today. I got it away from her long enough to identify it.

It is a small bird's wing. The left one to be precise.

Now, Doris and Jack are also outside. So I suppose Doris got the bird. And one of them has the rest of it out there still.

But, Sammy is a Left Winger. :P

    Hi,

And, today, we also have this:

    20251205_153151.jpg

This a Cali. Yes, it has been a while since we last saw her here on Sunday Cat. She has sort of moved in now that winter is beginning.

It had been a case of seeing her one day and not the next. Or even the day after that. She is a barn cat next door. Now let me explain what next door is. Not next door as in next door. It is way.over there, where you can barely see it it is another farm house. And they have two horses. And a barn. And two barn cats. One girl and one boy.

Well, as I hear it on the fenceline - that is when I am on my tractor over on the edge of my farm. And they are on their tractor on the edge of their farm. And we stop and chat across the fence - I found out that their boy cat likes to beat up on the girl cat. She hides a lot, so they call her Heidi.

So we figured out that on the days we don't see her, she is over there. And the days they don't see her she is over here. And she has been getting to the point where she is here more than there. And today is a rainy day and rather chilly. And here she is in our bed. Warm and dry and sleeping nicely.

I think we have another cat. Again. :)

    Hi,

Thanks. It is an honor, isn't it? When they choose you. The kittens, they got scooped up and transported here. They are very happy here, but it was not their choice.

Just for completeness, the last shot we saw of Cali was when she had wandered in to grab some lunch at the community food bowl:

Snowflake was still with us back then, and she and Cali didn't get along.

I have to admit this is one aspect that I really dislike about kitties. At least these guys share, so there is (I hope) just one victim.

I guess fate, or whatever you would want to attribute it to, would have it that Snowflake's exit allowed Cali to become a member of the family. Sad, but perhaps a best outcome, especially since she has made her preference known.

The Sunday Cat! will go up late today. I have to leave for a rehearsal right about when it needs to be posted.
