    Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly online community gathering on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

    Distortionist Kitty of the Week!

    As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

    "Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

    Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras, all cat fanciers welcome! Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Tales of their lives or adventures. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

    The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Last week's purrs, #955 / DPRv #147 / Sunday Cats! #47

    Thread Manager's Corner:
    Maybe I'm starting to turn a corner now. I'm less often thinking that I hear a cat around the house, and almost never anymore think I see Mr. Me out of the corner of my eye, although driving home this afternoon I was looking forward to seeing him until I remembered... So, come share with me, and everyone else, your kitties and their adventures. :D

    ~~~ Kim
    Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.
    These three of Mr. Me are all from 2018, July, September and November.
    This one, better than any other of my photos, shows Mr. Me's short legs and fluffy (but short) tail. This always proved to be a disadvantage for him when he got into fights with other cats, unfortunately often letting them get the better of him.
    Here's he's having fun with the dragon fly he pulled out of the air. Unfortunately, once the toys stop moving, they become uninteresting...
    When he was young he just loved to jump at these feathered things, enough so that it would wear out the toy operator before the cat was done! Here Lynne was getting him to show off his jumps. :)
    Slight edit, adding a link to last week's photos so they can be viewed as something of a collection.
    Mr. Me over time, revisit week 1
    I have been down with a bad cold. I went for a nap after lunch, and found I had a companion when I got up.
    Micio really has that "I've got my eye on you" look in this one. Concern perhaps? I would like to think so. Along with Micio I hope you are feeling better soon!
    Fascinating moment in time (1/3200s indeed!) This is so interesting, showing the kitty getting down from the hood (I presume) of the car. Looking to where she is going, her hind legs brace for a moment while she also has another brace point on the molding around the wheel well, meanwhile her tail is providing balance as she alights. Very nice. :)
