Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly online community gathering on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras, all cat fanciers welcome! Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Tales of their lives or adventures. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Thread Manager's Corner:
Last week I thought I was going to be late so I put up a notice about it, whereas this week I thought I was going to be on time but ended up being late with no notice! Oh well. :)

I guess because I lost my closest friend a few weeks before I lost Mr. Me, his loss didn't really hit me at first. It came down like a hammer this last week. I keep thinking that I hear him or see him out of the corner of my eye. Or even sometimes expect him at the door when I come home. For something so small they are such a big presence. I'm glad for the pictures that I have of him. So perhaps the thought this week is to savor the now by taking photos. Sometime later you'll be very glad you did.

Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.

I'm very glad for all the photos I have of Mr. Me. He was my first cat to live entirely in the digital era. All my prior kitties were film, except for some who crossed over to digital when I did. ;)

Mr. Me, well dressed for New Years Eve 2018!

He was always a little bit fussy about his food. ;) From this time, March 2019, up until the last month or so of his life, he was indeed very fond of this brand. One might detect a note of impatience in his look. Of course! The cans were still in the box and not open and added to his plate because I stopped to take this photo. :D

I think I might have posted this one in the not too distant past, but the intensity and directness of his look just draws me in. He was a cat with personality to spare.

Edit: Forgot the backward link again. Revisit Mr. Me - week 2
