    Hi,

No, it is the opposite. The three siblings gang up on Cali. So Cali spends most of her time outside. But then, she is a refugee barn cat from a neighboring horse ranch. She wandered over here one day and found out we have a cat door which leads to inside. She was never allowed inside over there. So she would show up ever more often until, now, she never bothers going back.

Snowflake came from the same place in the same manner. While she was alive, she would keep Cali outside pretty much all the time.

    Hi,

I always had a different phone every few weeks. First at Ericsson, later at BlackBerry. One of my job functions was returned product failure analysis. Most of the time, the faults are obvious. Some appear to be No Problem Found in the Lab. Then it is time to carry it myself for a bit. Also, carrying prototype and pre-production units. Revolving phones, as it were.

When BB tanked late in 2013, I became a consultant engineer. So, not always messing with phones. I kept using a BB Z10. And that lasted until AT&T decided they didn't want BB units on their system any longer. So they gave me a free replacement which had a lousy camera.

March 2025 my wife needed a new iPhone. She had been using a Seven for a long while. So I eyeballed what AT&T was offering and chose the Samsung S25 based on the chipset used. I went for the base model. Now they are trying to get me to move to the S26 and the Ultra to boot.

I could use the S25 to take shots of all the various models of phones I worked on. I think I have one of every model on my Shelves of Obsolete Electronics. That might make for an interesting thread.

This dude, along with some colleagues, lives in the park of the city's old citadel. They are usually very elusive, but I was lucky with this one and, from a distance, he let me take his portrait...

I hope that your neighbors don't mind that they keep on losing their barn cats. ;)

    Hi,

The neighbors would prefer the barn cats stay put. We would prefer the barn cats stay put. But the cats, as is usual with cats, have their own ideas.

I took them back a few times each. But then gave up. The neighbors came over and took them back a few times each. And the neighbors gave up as well.

So far only two. And we didn't get the second one until after the first one sadly passed away too young.

That reminds me a little of PJ, Lynne's cat who decided that the grass was greener on the other side. His owner had two cats, PJ and the other a black cat. I think they were from the same litter. They were not being taken care of. The black cat had his tail injured somehow and nothing was done about it. Eventually it fell off. PJ meantime, unlike his brother, had become friendly with us and eventually decided to leave his owner, who had already threatened us about taking his cats away. In any case PJ lived a short, but better life away from the owner. He died of feline leukemia, for which there was no vaccination at that time.
