Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly online community gathering on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023, making this week our third anniversary here! 😀

Bird Watching Kitty of the Week!

    Micio

Micio, reminding us that kitties are avid bird watchers, and that we should monitor their activities when they do.

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras, all cat fanciers welcome! Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Tales of their lives or adventures. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Last week's purrs, #963 / DPRv #155 / Sunday Cats! #55

    Thread Manager's Corner:
It was a quiet week leading up to our third anniversary. Maybe the kitties were watching the flight of Artemis II. :) I know I've been watching this evening, which delayed my post. While they were doing the manual flight testing I could see the commander using the Nikon D5, probably with the 80-400 lens. (It was definitely a large zoom lens!) Looking forward to seeing today's photos later. And of course kitty photos this week. :D

Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.

Getting back to Mr. Me. :)

This week along with Artemis, we have a kitty in flight!

When he was young, he would jump at this until exhausted.

    E-M1-II-#P1300817-61-130.jpg

When he got older, he tended to make his play session shorter.

And not as high. But it was fun to have these sessions with him and watch him fly!

    Revisit Mr. Me week 6

Technical note, one of the things I like about the 12mm f/2 is the small size and light weight, making it easy to one hand camera and hold the toy at the same time. The focus clutch helps too because I could just set it and shoot.

It definitely looks like Jack lost that round!

There's nothing like a cardboard box fortress to watch the nonsense from! Mr. Me's box was named "Fort Mee". ;) I notice that it looks like Track 1 has a replacement ball now. Off to the races?

Is Doris showing Jack how it's really done?

Looks like a kitty on a mission! I like the white socks, like a tuxedo cat would have. There is a kitty that visits my yard but as soon as he sees me he's gone, and I seldom have a camera handy enough to get him.

    Hi,

Yeah. Someone got the ball out of the original track. And, we have yet to find it. So we got them a new track and then just stuck another ball in the original one. Which doesn't fit and they have fun pulling that one out.

The latest play toy is that packing paper, of course. :)

    Stan,
About the cat ball in the track toy- what company makes it and what is its
name- I can't find it on Chewy's site.
    thanks,
    Joe
