Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly online community gathering on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday,e except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

    Composed Kitty of the Week!

    Cemetery Kitty

This exquisitely marked kitty appears very comfortable in front of the camera while on duty as a cemetery guardian in Turkey. :)

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras, all cat fanciers welcome! Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Tales of their lives or adventures. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Last week's purrs, #978 / DPRv #170 / Sunday Cats! #70

    Thread Manager's Corner:
Last week may have been a little short of images, but it was a good one for story telling. Both of which are welcome here! I hope that everyone is enjoying better weather now than in the previous few weeks. Over the last week it finally got hot here, which slowed down my film photography a bit as I've been going out later in the evening. The ISO 100 film I loaded the camera with is not the most suitable for nightime shots unless I bring along a tripod. :) So, I've been taking the digital cameras along instead. (It is handy to be able to change the ISO at the spin of a dial, or automagically!) Hoping that everyone as a good week ahead and lots of opportunity to shoot new images or even work with old ones. :D

Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.

Cats are curious creatures. On the one hand they are very independent. On the other they like our company. I have a little headphone set up in the bedroom, that I use to listen to music and not disturb my wife (my open back cans leak a lot of sound). Micio often comes to join me. Have you noticed that they know exactly where we are in the house, even when they are sleeping. He came to join me last night and decided it was time for a wash too.
