Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly online community gathering on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday,e except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. Thread Manager's Corner:
Last week was special because we got a little into the interior lives of cats and the wonder of their communication. We also got to see who is in charge here, Mokey over his safe space, Tiger and Stripey, and Jack over the respective community bed. ;) Now as we slip into the dog days of August the days grow shorter but typically no less warm, thus our kitties continue to lend us fewer photographic opportunities. But there are archives and other types of cats, so maybe we'll see some new, old or unusual visitors in the days ahead. :)

This kitty looks to be a little older, or maybe as the scratch across her nose suggests, has had a rougher life than some we've seen, but her quiet dignity appears to be unharmed.

KK's portrait also shares with us her sense of dignity, sometimes bordering on majesty. :)

They are so well equipped for the task. Day or night. I remember one time early on with Mr. Me, we were in the backyard at night and he heard a praying mantis make a sound. He ran across the yard and leapt on a vertical fencepost, grabbing the insect for a snack. Yum!

I'm so glad that you asked that. :)

I realized a little while ago that next month will be my 10th anniversary in managing the thread. So I thought I would celebrate a little. I had the hat made up as a sample and I think it turned out well. I would like to offer one to each of the regular contributors here in celebration and to say thanks. :D

Since the fabric of the hat also becomes the cat eye color, I selected only a few colors to choose from. The color of the one I had made up is stone.

The other colors are baby blue (top left), lemon (top right) and spruce (lower left) with stone repeated here (lower right). They are one size fits all with an adjustable strap, low crown baseball style.

So...if you would like to have one, PM me here with your color choice and address, or ask for my email or send me yours and we can do it over email. Because the company I am working with has a better price for shipping than I could do myself, I need to do it as a single order and have them ship directly to you. They gave me a good price for international shipping as well but said that there are some restrictions. They'll need an address in order to tell me whether they can ship there or not.

They are always alive. They then refuse to catch them and insist I join in...
