I've checked the admincp settings and zip file should be allowed. But when I try, I get a bit red error message saying the attachment type isn't supported.

testing upload of zip file
Clicking the above link downloads the zip to my Downloads folder on Win 10 pc.
The zip file contains just 2 copies of my avatar image 🙂
How did you create the Zip file?
Interesting. I got it from another site.
Let me try again with my normal account on a different file.
Alan
Nope - it won't let me upload a zip file I just created (using 7zip and with a .zip extension)
Sounds like there is something unusual with the zip file you used.
The zip file I uploaded was created by simply selecting the files and then right-clicking one of them and in the popup context menu clicked Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder. I'm using Win 10.
I'm doing the same, but using 7zip (although the resultant file is the same).
I've tried with my admin account and my normal account. So, there's something weird going on. Probably me, but it needs fixing in case it happens to others

"You can't upload files of this type."
I received this error when trying to upload ZIP files created by either Windows 11 ZIP folder, PeaZip, or downloaded from the net.
Testing to see if a 7Zip zip can be uploaded.
This is the screenshot of the settings I used. Basically just set the Archive Format to Zip and set an output filename. The rest is just the defaults.
Zip file created using the “Compress File”contextual menu on iOS (because that’s the device I had in hand.)
Contains only a small jpg of my avatar picture.
It must be something about my PC. Let me try from a different one.
ALan
Try this one
This is from my main PC running WIndows 10. Nope. Not that either.
The uploader insists on mimetype application/zip, so if your browser isn't marking it as such it won't let you upload it.
How do I find out whether I'm doing this? Sorry to be a pain, but I've never seen this before.
This is happening in Firefox & Chrome & Vivaldi. On two PCs.
Alan
I checked that my Firefox is setting mime type to application/x-zip-compressed in the request. Maybe that's the problem?
Here we go.
I downloaded the zip from a previous post and tried to reupload it.
@AlanSh >> I suggest you to test the same way.
We will be sure if it's the Zip or your PC.

Mine is set that way - but I was under the impression that mimetype settings were for receiving files and knowing what to do with them - not for uploading.

That's what I get too. I also downloaded a zip file and tried to re-upload it and it failed.
