Morris - this now seems to work. If I click on the preview (which is plenty big enough for me to decided it I really want to see it or not - just like DPR), I get a nice big version of your image.

Yes, this works, BUT, the problem with uploading from Flickr is that it now gives the viewer of the image access to your entire Flickr "photostream". Maybe yours is different, but my Flickr automatically uploads every pic I save, some of which are duplicates, less than perfect versions, just snapshots, etc. There are no secrets, but those pics usually don't represent my best work and those are all designated as "private" on Flickr, so that you won't see them if you look at my Flickr site. You'll only see the "public" stuff. By uploading from Flickr here, by some technical quirk, you are exposing ALL of your Flickr images, "private" and "public" to the viewer.

This is my first post, and a test for posting an image. This is one of my Abyssinian cats, Enki. Fujifilm X-T5 with Fujinon XF16-80mmF4 R OIS WR and Godox TT685IIF. Raw with a slight correction in C1 23.

And a good first post! Thanks for documenting the equipment used. Hopefully at some point the site will display the Exif.

    Hi, John,

Fine image. I assume you want it to display in the original post. To do that you must do one extra step after uploading. Once the image is uploaded wait 2 seconds for the following box to appear. Then all all you need do is click on the rectangle to embed the code in the post. Then when you click reply, the image will appear and not just a link.

It will give you access to your entire Flickr photostream if you are logged in but it should not give anyone else access to your private photos. I see 5,050 photos on your stream. Do you have more than that? I randomly clicked on a dozen or so photos throughout your Flickr account and only saw photos designated as "public".

Looks like a real good test, Morris! Clicking on the image itself gives the initial resolution.

Here's a test to see just how bad this looks at such a compressed size. I'm really hoping they can do something about that, the 4MB limit is a pretty significant downgrade to the full IQ capability that the DPReview forums had.

Seems a bit mushy. Another try with some output sharpening...

Maybe Bob's wallet is a just tad thinner than Amazon's? Transfer costs money and there is no financing in place yet.

Yeah, no doubt, but I do hope something can be done about the situation in the future, this is a photography forum after all. So far pretty good though, kudos to all involved.

Thank you! I have almost 14,000 images on Flickr, of which about 5,000 are "public". Maybe Flickr allows ME to see all of the non-public photos because it recognizes me somehow (I am pretty much always logged in); but it doesn't allow anyone else to do that? If so, all is good.

Again, it's not like there is anything terrible or embarrassing in the non-public images, but they are not representative of the quality of work I like to show; there are lots of family snaphots uninteresting to anyone other than me, duplicative shots, etc.

I'm going to try and experiment by posting this image from Flickr, logging out and then seeing if I can see all 14K images.

It worked!!! When logged out of Flickr, I can only see my "public images on Flickr.

    Thanks again!

    Hey, Erik,

Your 2nd and 3rd images above are well-detailed with good sharpness "when enlarged" to the resolution you uploaded. I'm using my slightly older MacBook Pro but will try it one a larger monitor.
I do not know how to rid the image links at the bottom of the post.

Hi Bob, I was initially, for whatever reason, looking with a 110% screen magnification which was screwing things up a considerably. When uploaded at the original image dimensions (but with a lot of compression) and viewed with the normal 100% magnification, zero to a little extra sharpening export (Lightroom Sharpen for Screen "Low") seems to actually look pretty decent.

Some folks seem to be uploading photos without the links at the bottom so there must be a way to do that, but I have yet to figure it out.

It's when the photo is somewhere else on the web (the image icon).

I have noticed that. I would use my Flickr site but the majority of Albums are kept private for client purposes. For the moment I may open another Flickr account that is free and just use it to store images for the public here. I've tested the embedded codes and they work well.

And my thanks as well. Nice to see how fast this community is growing.
