I don't think we can control colors ourselves but I have not delved deeply into that (there's some intriguing little buttons across the top of the reply panel) , and of course changes in the buttons is a programming thing. There's a few different threads where people are suggesting improvements. If mgt agrees and it's easy, they tend to do it right away. If it's more complicated they may reply put it on the 'to-do' list. Alan seems to be the one that does that kind of stuff.

Right now it's just "big purple box at top" or "little purple box at bottom".

    Just an observation:
I registered on my other computer (office).
Now I am home to continue what you asked.
And if I go to the forum before signing in, I don't see any images.
Where the images are, is just a padlock icon.
So this means that lurkers who do not register, will not be able to see the images and judge whether they would like to jump in.
This is something we probably need to make our regulars aware of.
Encourage them to register in order to see what happens.

I'll now make a new post in this thread, trying to link from Zenfolio.

And I will also include an image from my computer.

Here is a test of embedding an image from Zenfolio.

Same image as posted March 29 on DPR:

    All right, so that works.
While composing the post, the image does not yet show itself.
But it gets shown, after actually posting.
    I can see it.
    Can you?

I have read that the images are only visible to those signed in.

Yes. I have been able to see my images in preview but I have only posted uploads from my computer.

Now that we have replied a bit you can see how the replies nest inside themselves.

A couple of features I do like- the ability to edit forever and the ability to preview before posting.

And here is an image uploaded from my computer:
(It took me a few seconds to realize that I needed to use the "arrow up" button, and not the "landscape image" button.
On DPR, that same button gave the option of link from site or upload from computer.
Maybe there is room for improvement in the order of the icons/buttons.
    LINK
    IMAGE
QUOTE (what does that do - I'll test it)
    SPOILER (ditto)
    CODE (ditto)
    UPLOAD

You have to click the little double box lower left that shows up after you upload an image, to make it post properly.

All right, so this is a reply to the thread in general, using the top reply button.
We could ask users to use that button and only that one, to post their own new picture.
It would be useful if this reply button (to the thread, not to a single post) would have a different colour, or be called "reply to thread", and then the other reply button "reply to message"
Good pick up. I hadn't noted the difference between the reply buttons. Giving them a different colour would make it easier to explain how to use this forum.
