Based on previous experiments, I decided to try some techniques again with a tad more purpose. A Kodak Black video ended up being the choice for the experiment. 1251 photos over the course of 3 minutes two times whittled down to 13 selections.

A legal question - is this a copyright violation? It is clearly transformative from its original purpose, but as the Supreme Court recently ruled, transformation isn't enough. I would like to try and sell the images as art pieces (as if anyone would want to buy this, lol), but I'm not sure I am legally in the clear and I suspect I'm probably not given the Warhol decision. Anyone got any insight?

Sorry no idea about any legal issues with your images.
But after your clues I think I do possibly recognise the Super Gremlin official music video as the source for main character here, so they are probably just about traceable.
As to the images, they are pretty wild , like a hallucinogenic vision :-)

And thus the "hallucinogenic nightmare" style was named.

You would probably be on firmer legal ground if everything was your own original work.

Very interesting, I'm not a lawyer but my brother is a copyright lawyer and I can ask him what he thinks.

I'd appreciate it. Like I said I'm 99% sure I'm not on good ground here because it's derived from another piece of art - a music video.

My brother is away for a few days. I'll ask him about this when he gets back.
