I think that the name is absolutely fine Bob.
fyi … UK limited company names can be changed for less than £10.00 ...should you wish to.

Yes, those pesky apostrophes can be tricky. lol

Geez, I hate to bring this up after the fact, but shouldn't it have been "The Photographers' Foundation Limited"?

Unless it's just a single photographer being considered as owning The Foundation. Which it might well be, but it's being promoted as a group thingy..

my immediate thought also, was like a sore thumb when I saw the certificate.

    The Photographers’ Foundation

is it, is great, is community.

Does this mean I have to change my username to "The Mule"?

Only if you want to run the whole thing by warping our minds.

Meant to quote. So to Bobn2

Well, I'm not one to go around promoting inclusiveness, but if I were doing it promoting it as a site for the people, well, I think Photographers' Foundation would be the way to go. But as I tell the mods on DPReview, usually when we're in the middle of a discussion about something I didn't agree with, "it's your forum - do with it as you want" It's likely Jeff of Amazon fame called it "our" company, when it was really his. (minus the shareholder thingy)

And personally, I consider it your forum, your idea, you started it, it's yours. I have no problem with that. Merely pointing out what was obvious to me, but I'm good either way. Not that it matters.

Congratulations on such a fantastic achievement so far and in such a short time.

As I posted in another thread, the amazing uptake and acceptance of dprevived as shown by the flooding in of past dpreview members and new members is a testament to your integrity, dedication to helping others, long term contribution to photography itself and your popularity along with the wonderful dedication and assistance of the team you have with you.

Well done and thank you to you and your amazing team.

Mostly banks are charging for any kind of cheque, because they want to do it all electronically. They'll usually charge extra for international cheques.

Good work, and you and your growing team have done a lot of work. Does it still feel like a labor of love!? Hope it proves to be a Firm Foundation, but I guess the descriptor “Firm” is already spoken for over there.

Sorry, it's a Films and Digital Images" Foundation "The fotografer's" are the caretaker and producers of that inestimable art.

Leonardo da Vinci would certainly be a Member, but nobody gave him ever a Nikon.
He would had shot a fantastic "Monna Lisa" and some others as well...
.... in the same time it took him to paint it instead !!!

??? Can we have a Monna Lisa shot over our landing page ???

( I suppose an Asimov portrait will not do )

One of the points of a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee is that it can't be 'bought out'. It belongs to the members, no shareholders. The only way it can transfer is that the members decide by a majority to close the company and transfer its assets somewhere else, and since they can't make a profit doing that and the transfer has to be to the benefit of the members, there is no point, unless it's a merger to a more secure home or suchlike. And if they are paid personally by the 'buyer' to vote that way, that's an illegal conspiracy.
