OK, I tried a copy of this lens about a year and a half ago, and, well, I must have had a bad copy. Just wasn't any good. But I did read lots of posts from people who swear by it, so I gave it another shot. My copy is very good! I'm actually surprised at how good, really. This lens, along with the 14-35 will make a really nice and light travel kit.

There can always be some sample variation, but We also own a very good one, I do like it and my better half always wants the 24-240 when we hike with minimum gear. It delivers good quality photos and does get close to the RF 24-105 F4L we also own.

We often do take the RF 16mm with the 24-240, that could also be an option for a light travel kit.

Every time I leave it out of the bag I miss it. Can also leverage the distorted corrected 24mm semi-fisheye effect to your advantage by tuning lens correction on raw files if you want to crop more panoramic than 2:3 for even wider than a proper 24mm would give.

FWIW, this is one data point that helped to convince me to try it again: opticallimits.com/canon_eos_ff/1166-canonrf24240f463

Yes. It is a fine lens and extremely versatile. I see that this shot was actually done at 50mm, but I assure you it was the 24-240mm lens!

This one, with the same lens at 240mm

And this one -- just too far away!

Please add your own 24-240mm photos!

This afternoon I was by the Donau again with the RF24-240. This is a view of the Neue Donau looking south east.

The lights on the Reichsbrücke are quite unique. (A third of the way from the left one can just see the top of the spire of St. Stephen's Catherdral, in the centre of Vienna.)

There is a lot of skyscraper building going on on the far side.

On May Day I took some more photos with the RF24-240 lens at the Palace of Schönbrunn on the south-west outskirts of Vienna.
