These shots were taken from across Lake Motosu and Lake Shoji Late afternoon earlier this year.

Beautiful pictures. I hope you don't mind, but I edited your post to include the thumbnails.

Thanks.
Thanks.
凄くいい写真! (Beautiful photos!) That's the first mountain I climbed in Japan. Started up at 9:00 or 10:00 PM so I could watch the sunrise from the top. I was thinking, "Who else would climb Fujisan at night?" Well, a lot of people. A real lot of people. 😁
Thing is, my wife was pregnant with my daughter at the time, and was due any day, so I didn't know if the day would be the day I climbed. So, after watching the sunset, I quite literally ran down (a fall would have been a little bit bad on all that volcanic rock -- just like a wave slamming you into a coral reef). But, as fast and reckless as I was, there was this guy with his 8-10 year old daughter, just ahead of me, also running, and it took me at least half an hour to catch up with them! Like, WTF?!
Hi, GB. Can't believe it is 5 days since i have checked in here. Glad to see you still around as we last spoke in 2015 on the old off topic DPR. Just started posting on the old DPR under similar name in the landscape forum but for now i am on some sort of probation period as it seems I had been banned all those years ago, ( who wasn't, a? ). These days if I can't drive to the top of a mountain then will just look from the bottom. Found out later that the spot the pano was taken was the same place as the photo used on the 1000 yen note was taken.
DPRevived - where old acquantances renew. 😁
I apologize -- some mod must have found out you spoke to me at one time. 😁
So, are you saying your photo is only worth 千円? I'd have paid a might more for it, myself! 😉
