This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

    Subject: Lake Tahoe

Here are some of the pictures I took at Lake Tahoe on my trip to Northern California last November. We started out with good weather and then later we had some rain. The snow stayed at the higher elevations.

Photo No. 1 - We see Emerald Bay from the south side.

    ResizedDPR13.jpg
Model - Canon EOS Rebel T7i
    ExposureTime - 1/1600 seconds
    FNumber - 9

    FocalLength - 64 mm
    Lens Model - EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM

Photo No. 14 - On the northeast side of the lake, I took this from the car (through a side window) as we were leaving the area. Eventually, we did drive through a little snow at the higher elevations, but it did not stick to the roads. So we did not see any accidents as a result or experience any delays.

The weekend was productive so to say, this is only the Saturday:
We did see the sun and nice blue skies again. After days with a grey cloud cover it's very nice to be out hiking with that kind of weather
Visited the Boswachterij Gieten-Borger and the Gasselterveld area and followed a nice trail around the former quarry lake.

And on the Sunday I went out alone for an other hike. Visited the local military proving ground and training area, M.O.T de Haar near the TT circuit in Assen again
This proving ground is regularly used by the Dutch 11 Air Assault Brigade.
Hoped to see some roe deer, and I did have luck😁
All deer photos are 3000x2000ish crops from the original photos, they still were at a distance but with 700mm (500mm with 1.4x TC) and cropping I do like the results.

    Photobygms,

Thanks. For Lake Tahoe, spring and summer is the most popular time to come between June and early September. But in October and November the hotel prices are much less. I would say that late September or early October would be normally the best for a combination of (hopefully) good weather and lower prices. There might be some good deals also in late spring. I'm not sure what the costs might be in winter, being that skiing is so popular.

Yes, with such nice sunshine we see spectacular photos that you took. It's nice to see all of that blue sky.

    Photobygms,

With the second set of photos, I'm "jealous" to see all of those pictures of the deer. There's only been a few times I have been able to photograph deer or elk, but I don't specifically go out looking for them either. I like the scenic photos too, that show you must have had some rain.
