    Dunlin,

Thanks. Yes, the group I was with doesn't say "Hey, what's holding you up?", or "What are you doing now?", but they give you that look (that you know they want to move along faster). I appreciated them "putting up with me", while I'm taking photos. 😀

Last weekend I was camping with our church.
The pictures I really want to show are of a campfire, but until I learn to get pleasant, accurate colours from darktable they'll have to wait.

    Dunlin,

I hope you had a good time camping. Did you go on some hikes too? That's neat to see all of those light bulbs next to the tent. What was the reason for so many of them?

No, we just stayed at the site, relaxing, talking and whatnot.
I don't honestly now, it wasn't my tent. I think they were mainly for decoration, after dark when they were lit.

Subject: A Hike Up and Down Mt. Talbert

In early June of this year I went up and down Mt. Talbert. It's really more like a hill and because it's so covered with vegetation, you don't hardly recognize it as being a hill or a mountain. It's probably a volcanic mountain is my guess. It probably is considered to be part of the Cascade Range. It's south and a little east of Portland, Oregon.

Update: I just read this evening that Mt. Talbert is an ancient volcanic cinder cone. The elevation is only 740 feet (226 meters).

Photo No. 1 - OK, up the mountain we go. I don't know why these fern plants are brown, but they are coming back.

That seems to me like a nice place for a hike 👍
    Nice set again @Digirame
If I find time later today (when I'm at home again) I might add a few more photos from our stroll yesterday
Teaser: again blue skies with some clouds 😂

This is just purely an abstract.

The thing that impressed me is that I took this later in the evening when the light was fading fast. The shutter speed is only 1/4 of a second handheld.

    Photobygms,

Thanks. We both do lots of hiking. 😀 That would be great to see your photos as always. I should have mentioned (but it was probably obvious) that when was hiking up and down Mt. Talbert it was cloudy. Today we have blue skies. Finally we are getting some sun too. 😀

    Steve,

That's a nice sharp picture of a full moon. I also like the moon with the tree silhouette and the clouds.

    Steve,

That's great you were able to take the abstract photo at such a low shutter speed handheld. I like the blue colors, both light and dark.

    Photobygms,

Everything about what we see in your photos looks pleasant. It must have been nice for a hike. I do like seeing the blue sky, but seeing the sky with clouds is perfect for me. 😀 I especially like the third picture, with the low lying clouds. It's like it's threatening to rain, but it's not. It makes it look like it's not too cold and not too hot.

    Subject: Dragonfly

I was running an errand yesterday and decided to go later to a park. I only had a couple of cameras with me and did not have the Tamron 150-600mm lens. I saw this dragonfly and managed to get close to it. I was going slow so not to scare it as I inched towards it. I could not get any closer because my right foot was getting stuck in the mud by the edge of this pond. I thought this was pretty good using only 200mm focal length. I cropped it a little. i hope you like....

    Steve,

The sky looks so calm. I bet you did not have a lot of wind either. Anyway, that's what it appears to me to be.

    Dig,

Yep. Not a breath of wind all day.

I was puzzling this morning, trying to figure out why I would have dropped the aperture down to 5.6 in the second picture, then I remembered that I was fiddling around with he Kelvin temperature. I had dropped it down to about 4600 or 4900K or something, trying to draw out the blue in the sky. It gets confusing at different times when the adjustments are made with the command dial vs. the joystick. I think I wound up changing the aperture and forgot to set it back.
