    Photobygms,

Your rainy day pictures are so nice! I really liked seeing them with the clouds. The photo of the cow is your best yet of these animals. 😀 With a relatively short focal length for great depth of field and good composition, it makes it tops for me. 😀 👍 That's a neat looking cow bell around the neck.

Wow...that's incredible all the traveling you all have been doing with all those trains and cablecars. Have lots more fun!

Thanks guys! About that cow and the bench, think the cow had a bad day somehow and not in a good mood 😉
An american couple walked up there short before we got there (we were all on the way to a viewingpoint at Männlichen) They wanted to sit there but that cow didn't let them. That cow really protected that bench, that couple did almost ran away after she was about to use her horns😐

    Photobygms,

I liked hearing your story about the cow and the bench. Often there's more to a photograph than what we can see.

    From what I read....

"Technically bulls are male and cows are female, but generally you can just call a herd cows and most people don't care. It's a broad enough term for cattle."

If I don't know, I just consider it a cow as a gender-neutral term. Those horns looked small enough for me to not be a bull, but I don't know about that variety. We could say bovine or cattle. But for most people they don't care (as stated), like they don't care about the technical aspects of photography and just use their cell phones. 😀

    Photobygms,

Thanks for the clarification. A cow it is. 😀 I'm back from the beach. Even though it was foggy, the fog lifted enough for me to get a huge amount of photos. Now I have to review and post process them. It will be several hours. I overdid it with three different cameras and lenses.

    Nice shots @Bryan👍

A few from yesterday, a day with some nice hiking weather, we followed a trail that got us close to the Eiger Nordwand.

    IMG_6321.jpg

I did use the Eos R with the RF14-35F4L and the Eos 5DIV with the EF28-300L as seen in the picture
And we both do use small day backpacks or bigger backpacks when needed with Peakdesign clips for our cameras. The extra set of legs (or better known as hiking poles) that can be very handy when hiking on loose gravel and steep inclines.
And two bottles (750ml) with water mixed with Dextro Energy

I have a 1.5m piece of hard pine branch that I now use as a walking stick - very light but strong enough. Original idea was as a fend off stick if I encountered a snake. Since I discovered the value of a walking stick it goes on every walk and has helped quite a few times on slippery surfaces. Never seen a snake...

    Bryan,

Those lorikeets are so beautiful. That's a good one of the flying bird. I often don't have much patience to wait for the birds to take flight and be in position with the correct settings. Only once have I caught a dragonfly in flight like that. It was hovering but would take off as I tried to photograph it. But it kept coming back to the same location, so eventually I got it. But that's very tough to do. I like your damselfly. I used to take a lot of pictures of them with my Olympus DSLR cameras many years ago.

    Photobygms,

With better weather, you got some really neat photos. Being above treeline, what elevation were you hiking at? I like your gear set up. I don't use hiking poles, but sometimes I can see it could be handy. But on long trips, I do carry water and food.

Did you see mountain goats around that area? That looks like a perfect place for them.

@Bryan, Haven't seen it that way but I can understand why, it does look like a big wave somehow😀
The hiking poles are not always used but at longer, higher, more difficult hikes in the mountains, we do like to have an extra set of legs😂

@Digirame this holiday it's between 1000 and 3500m, Grindelwald is situated at about 1000m en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grindelwald.
We have seen a lot already. but not always with camera's in hand.
Different falcons, a few golden eagles, buzzards, alpine chamois and Ibexes and the alpine marmots (murmeltiere)

What you didn't see (in the backpacks) is food, poncho tarps, first aid kit, Survival/Swissknife, sunglasses and a few more smaller things. We do like to prepared unlike some other tourists we have seen.

    And weather does change sometimes.
Because it would only be a light drizle we did go out for a hike again, but the the light drizle became rain so we turned around and decided to hike back to Grindelwald on a different trail
