This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

As promised, we're back at home after visiting family in the southwestern part of our little country (Rotterdam-Europoort)
Decided to go far a nice sunny hike through the dunes and the beach at Rockanje
Spotted two squirrels and many birds that you would expect near the dunes and beach 😁

    Photobygms,

Thanks. I did that by finding flowers that were in the bright sun with dark shadows in the background. It's challenging to find situations that are like that.

    Photobygms,

That's neat to see the squirrel again. The gray bird with the white beak must be an Eurasian Coot. We have American Coot birds that are similar. I'm not sure what the other bird is...that is, the identification. That looks like a nice area for a hike, where a person can get away from the forest and be in sandy areas near the ocean with lots of wide open spaces.

    Subject: More Tulip Flowers

Later I'll show more tulip flowers from the festival. I had so many of them and they are too pretty to not show. But I've been busy with Easter activities. But I do want to show them when I can later.

    So, I'll start with one.

That last photo does really look like the tulips fields in the Netherlands, are you sure that you took them in the USA ? 😁😂😆
You're right about the coots, the other one (two) are Black-headed gulls.

    Photobygms,

Thanks. Yes, these tulips are found in the USA. Google Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm Oregon. Can you find it? Years ago, they had so many people visiting it, that it could take about an hour waiting in line near the farm just to get in. Now, we have to buy tickets in advance and they schedule it for everyone, so there's no longer these traffic jams.

Yesterday, I suddenly noticed that this hedge had burst into blossom. Can someone identify what it is called, please?

    David,

Yes, the tulip farm harvests both the flowers and bulbs. They must make a ton of money also from all of the tickets sold.

Those are pretty blossoms. I don't know the ID of them, even with a quick search on the internet.

Wondering what people think of this image? I spent some time playing about to get the light balance just where the points of light where prominent, but everything still light enought for background details.

    David,

Thanks for sharing with us another photo. Sometimes it does help to have other objects in the picture to dimension things more clearly. People or animals often help that when taking pictures of waterfalls or tall trees etc.
