This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

Digirame will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) normally to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.
Last week Digirame was away on a short holiday, and right now still busy I think so I started the new thread

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

    Photobygms,

Thanks. I'll do the same. I missed starting the thread...sorry about that. I was actually still working on post processing my photos from the trip and forgot. But I did get that done. I overdid it and brought with me four cameras and lenses to California. Also I had to review and post process some photos from a recent Christmas tree lighting.

Subject: Old Truck Next To Some Flowers

Before I show some more wood duck pictures, here's a couple of images I liked. I saw these in October of this year near an old country road.

Subject: October 27, 2025 Wood Ducks

Here are some Wood Ducks I found just before I took my trip to California. Sometimes I had some sun. By this time, the lily pads had all gone dormant so I got some nice ones of these ducks without those distracting elements. As most of you probably know, the female ducks are mostly brown and the male ducks are more brightly colored.

We Visited Dwingelderveld again for a hike during the weekend and enjoyed the dry and colder weather conditions
And with the use of the Hiking nodes (wandelknooppunten) we mixed a few trails and followed this hiking trail.

Thanks Photobygms. I take lots of pictures of these Wood Ducks, because I find that each picture is different. It could be their position, the lighting, or the surroundings with different colors. These ducks are known to be difficult to photograph. When I first saw them at this pond, they would not even let me look at them, even at a far distance. But if I stand there long enough, they sometimes venture out and I get excited to be able to take their pictures. They are only there part of the time, from about September to January. But occasionally I will see them other months. But September to January is the best time to find them. Of course, a lot of that time is during our rainy season, which again makes it difficult.

Yeah, that's a neat old truck...just needs a little loving care and it would be as good as new. 😀 Here's another photo of the truck.

    Photobygms,

That's a neat place to go hiking. I like especially seeing the old trees that create an arch over the trail. That's nice that near where you live, you have such good well marked trails with signs. I liked seeing the sheep. What's that light yellow-green material coming out of their ears?
