This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

    Subject: Virginia City, Nevada

Here are some pictures from the trip I took a few weeks ago. This was in Virginia City, Nevada. This city is an historic mining town near Carson City and Reno, Nevada. On this Saturday, there were many people there because there was also a car show.

Photo No. 1 - With so many people around, I just decided to include them in some of the photos.

I hope you like seeing part of this city. At one time, there were about 30,000 inhabitants and over 90 operating mines. A person could spend days here, exploring all of the old buildings and documenting it with pictures, if you did not mind walking up and down the steep hills.

Right now we are staying in Winterberg (Germany) to enjoy our summer holiday😎
The first days we could enjoy some nice weather and spend some time hiking through the region.
Yesterday we followed a few trails around one of the "mountains" through the forest and nature reserve and hiked up the one of the highest peaks in the region.
This peak is called Kahler Asten. (842m high)

Thanks Photobygms. I'm going to edit my description of the Metro vehicles to match what you said about them being vans. I did read a few minutes ago that they were produced from 1938 to 1975 by International Harvester. I also read that they were used for milk or bakery delivery, as well as for ambulance services...probably for other things as well.

    Photobygms,

Have a great summer holiday. 😀 Also I hope you have an opportunity to explore many different things on your hikes. I like seeing all of the greenery and that you have a few hills to climb too. I enjoyed seeing the yellow leaves. Even though we have not yet reached September a few of our trees are also showing some yellow leaves. I don't know if the dry hot weather for us is contributing to that.
