This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

    Subject: Walking Around The Lake

On April 19th, I took a hike around this lake. It was a beautiful spring day.

Photo No. 1 - This is the east side of the lake.

Photo No. 3 - Now we are a little west of there, where we see a lonely tree and bench.

Photo No. 4 - There's another lonely bench by a tree.

    FocalLength - 27 mm
    Lens Model - RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

Photo No. 5 - We see again another lonely bench. Why are they so lonely? Well, it's too early in the season for people to get outdoors here. More people can be expected here once the weather warms up.

That is a lot of birds 😂
That lake and the surrounding area (park) look like a nice place for more hiking. With the hills in the in the background it does remind me in a way to the Scottish Highlands😍

We did also have nice weather again during the weekend, actually the next week is will also be nice weather.
We did some gardening and the rest of the saturday we relaxed 😁
The sunday was even better, temperatures did go up to 22c and almost no clouds. Spring is here to stay 😎
We went to the Forestry Grolloo, and followed and combined a few hiking/walking trails.

    Photobygms,

Thanks. But I have a lot more birds to show, but I thought I would give you all a break from that, at least for today. 😀 There were three Wood Ducks that let me take photos of them really close (two males and one female). They were in a different pond with a lot of Mallard ducks. The Mallard ducks there are not afraid of people as much, so these Wood Ducks then came close too.

The hills surrounding this lake, only reach about a 1000 meters in elevation maximum (plus or minus)...except for one near Corvallis, Oregon which is about 25% higher. They are part of the Coast Ranges. They are quite a bit less in elevation than the Cascade Range, where we have a series of volcanoes.

That does look like a lovely spring. And we see even a Dutch windmill. 😀 I like seeing all of the flowers and fresh green leaves on the trees.

It looks like the sun will shine for most of the rest of this week; but I have had work to keep me indoors. Tomorrow is May Day -- a public holiday here, so a trip is planned. Austria has an amazing number of public holidays, including a lot of Catholic holy days. Those that fall on a Thursday (MayDay, this year, Ascension Day, Corpus Christi...) encourage the Viennese to take a long weekend off, leaving the city to the tourists.

But I digress. Getting fed up of spending so much time in front of the computer, with its distractions, I bought myself a typewriter on Ebay. It is 55 years old and works perfectly. Machines like this can be had for 20-50 Euros: the mat cost €1 from a dollar store...

I also took a trip to IKEA (it's good exercise walking around that maze, trying to figure out how to get out!) and returned with a new desk lamp and two cheap tables. One (called Olseröd) is for the typewriter, to get my arms at the right height. The quality of IKEA design is getting higher. The wooden top of the table unclips from the frame, which then is turned through 90°, and with the top reattached it to make a lower "coffee table". It also has a nice little hammock-like thing at teh back, in which you can keep things like remote controls. I am also reshelving my CDs, so I can find them easily. Here is a pic of the typewriter on its table.

    David,

That's interesting that you bought a typewriter. I never thought to do that because I did not like it when they would jam if a person hit two of the keys accidentally at the same time (at least for the one that I used). Plus erasing mistakes was a chore. Yes, you are right that the computer can be a distraction. My solution for that, is to get outdoors. Thanks for sharing a picture of your typewriter. Enjoy the extra days off that you all get. 😀

    Subject: Oregon Farmland

Here's some Oregon farmland I captures from a moving car (which is why the shutter speed is so high). We have had lovely weather, a little more dry than usual this April. It's so nice this time of year with the fresh spring green leaves and tree blossoms.

Some nice shots again Digirame, seems the weather we have at the moment is just like what yours.
We do have summer like temperatures at the moment. perhaps a bit to warm for this time of the year.
The last days, during the day it's above 20c and like today we will have close to 25c temperatures tomorrow.
Unfortunately the weekend will be a bit colder and there might be some rain.
Early morning is still a bit cold I found out 😁
Decided to take my bike again for getting to work (and back home)
Just a quick shot from this morning, Did underexpose this one on purpose
