The Weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Starting 29 December 2025 Any Brand

This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

Those Wildfire photos do remind me at the Kenow wildfire (2017) at Waterton Lakes National Park (Alberta Canada)
We did see similar things while hiking in Waterton area in 2019

Thanks Photobygms. It's my "lazy" way to take pictures from the car instead of hiking. LOL 😀 All kidding aside, there's so much opportunity to get pictures like this traveling, as long as you have a "chauffeur" like I do. 😀

We do it also that way when on a road trip, the passenger takes pictures. We both shoot and drive 😂

I've got nothing special at the moment, didn't go for a hike during the weekend just a lazy weekend after Christmas.
But today I went on a short stroll to test some new gear 😁(G.A.S hit me again)
Traded the RF F1.2 50mm and the RF 1.8 24mm for the lighter RF F1.4 50mm VCM and the RF F1.4 20mm VCM

That's great you got some new gear. The test shots look good. I think about it also...to get something new...but I'm content to keep what I have for a while. I bought a second Canon R8 last spring to beat the tariffs. Later I'll have to get another lens for it. But I'm in no hurry for that, since this photography is only a hobby for me.

Actually the main reason to swap lenses was that I didn't like the size, weight and balance of that RF 50mm F1.2L (about 1 kg/34oz)
The RF 50mm F1.4L VCM is about half the size and weight😎

These will be the last for this year, I think.
Went out for another short hike with the new lenses 😎
Followed some trails around the Oudemolense Diep.
Had luck with the weather, there was some light rain predicted, but had no rain at all, actually the sun tried to break the cloud cover.

And with these all what is left, is to wish a happy new year to all👍

Survived all the fireworks so a nice way to start with a short hike after a relaxing day
We did have some snow during the night, It finally did start to look like winter😉
Visited the Kampsheide and Deurzerdiep area and followed some of the available trails.
Started with some nice sunny weather but it ended with snow falling down again.
