And the new thread for this week (while @Digirame is on holiday) 😎

This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

We will begin this thread each Monday, to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels
from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. we'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.👍

Yes, PARTICIPATION is the name of the game! Let's give Digirame something interesting to see when he returns! 😀

This morning, I checked up on the status of the roadworks in Praterstrasse, of which I have shown photos before. I managed to gain access to an upstairs window, for a different view. It is at times like this when I am really glad to have the camera tethered to my wrist with the Peak Design cuff — I was not paid to say this!

It looks like this end of the street is coming along well. The other end is still a mess, but the three men and their dog are doing their best, and they might possibly be finished by the end of August — 14 months after starting the job — even taking into account the public holiday on the 15th! I will give an update then and report on the improvements.

Looking straight across the street, the magnitude of the alterations to the building are clearer than from ground level:

Thanks for the new thread 👍😉
At the moment we do have some nice weather so the weekend was used for a bike tour and a hike:
Saturday we followed a nice hiking trail through the woods:
All four digital cameras we own were used again with a selection of our lenses 😃

And on Sunday we decided to follow the F28 bicycle highway (Assen - Groningen) first and after a while we went back home over a different route with a few gravel and dirtroads😅
This time only our Eos R was used with the RF 28mm pancake

@Photobygms: I‘d be very interested to know what you consider the advantages and disadvantages of the four individual cameras. I had a 5D (Mk.1) and was always disappointed with the results I got from it. By comparison, the RP was a breath of fresh air, and has the advantage of lightness over the R6. The R6, however, has more intuitive controls, for me, anyway. (And, as can be seen by the settings I use, the Leica needs to be approached totally differently from any of these!)

Here's a silly picture I made up from two photos.

    pointing to a duck_(Superlarge).jpg

And a closeup of a flower which looks like a cactus (I have no idea what it really is)

    cactus closeup.jpg

Nothing too exciting, but not the normal "landscape pictures" that I nomally take.

@davidwien the R series are the lighter ones compared to the similar DSLRs
RP versus 6DII (sensor is basically the same) and the R versus 5DIV (sensor also basically the same)
I still like a OVF but EVF will do when we don't carry the DSLRs
The R series do work perfectly or perhaps even better with the many EF lenses we own.
It did take a while but we got used to the R series and perhaps the 5DIV and 6DII will be replaced in the future for R series bodies

@AlanSh nice photos, and the flower is a Thistle 😉

    Hi all.

I'm back from vacation (holiday)...just got in a few hours ago. But I've got a lot of unpacking to do, plus go through a "gazillion" photos. 😀 So count me as being absent for a few more days. But I thought I'd share one of the photos I took through the not-very-clean windshield (windscreen) as the passenger in a moving car.

It's great to see you all sharing the pictures. 😀

Yesterday was a wonderful day for photography. We had torrential downpours and wind gusts of 70mph. These were all taken with a Cloudy White Balance.

    IMG_0527.JPG

The storm moved in from the northwest, and looking east, there was a pretty sharply defined squall line as you can see it moving across the sky.

    IMG_0526.JPG

After the storm passed, this guy popped up to the south.

    IMG_0532.JPG

The day ended looking like this. You might think this was the Great Pyramid at Giza, but it's just the peak of my house looking north.

    IMG_0536.JPG

Photographically speaking, it was a great day 😀

    Hello everyone again. 😀

I've finished going through the vacation (holiday) photos. Rather than showing some of them now at the end of this weekly thread, I'll plan on doing that tomorrow. That will be when I start the next weekly thread.
