    Digirame,

I assume that's what we (in the UK) would call a Coypu?

    Tim,

Yes, according to what I read that is correct. A Coypu is a Nutria. They came to Oregon from South America to farms for their fur. A few got loose and now they are everywhere in our area where there are lakes, wetlands and ponds. They have also invaded Washington state to the north of us.

    Digirame,

Back in the 1970s & 80s we also had a significant feral population of Coypus in the UK - in East Anglia - that caused quite a lot of damage to the lowland ecosystem. Not sure I would do it now, but as a young computer programmer/analyst I developed an IT system to help direct Ministry of Agriculture (now Defra) trappers in the most efficient manner. Don't know if the computer system helped but "we" eradicated them within 4 years

And now we are deliberately, but tentatively, re-introducing beavers - good thing in my opinion. How times change

A big parade here on Sunday, with the Ringstrasse closed to all vehicular traffic from noon to 5pm or later, and chaos everywhere else.

This new sign sprang up overnight!

@davidwien Was he shooting with large format film?

Maybe. He had a black metal sheet that looked like it blocked light from a photographic plate, and he wasnt firing off shots like one can with digital cameras; but he also had what looked like a digital back and a fancy light meter in his bag. Obviously quite expensive kit!

    I took these yesterday.

These are growing maybe 15' off the ground I have no idea what they are, but it's strange to see them up in the sky like this.

I very much like the look of trumpet vines. I was never attacked by one, but made the mistake of letting it grow in our yard in Indiana. It burrowed under concrete and came up everywhere!

    David,

Is the sign you are referring to, the one with the "U" with "WC" below it? What does it signify? Did you get any pictures of the parade?

This is the normal sign for a U-Bahn (subway) station. the one I showed has been modified for the weekend. Also added sticky tape on the horizontal bar.

Here's a wild rose flower I found the other day. If you also find some, let's see what you got. 😀

Is this an European goose that Photobygms showed us? I assumed it was somebody's pet that got loose. I rarely see them, but this one let me get close using only 99mm focal length.

    Photobygms,

Thanks. 😀 I'll have to keep my eye open for any more Greylag geese.
