This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

    Subject: Male Red-winged Blackbird

Every once in a while I get to take photos of these black birds, while I'm out looking for wood ducks and other wildlife. Here are two of them that I took in late November of last year. I have to be quick, for they don't often stay still for very long and fly away.

    Subject: Eurasian Wigeon Duck

In early December of last year, I saw an Eurasian Wigeon Duck. It is rarely seen in Oregon. But I recognized this male duck by its red-orange head.

Photo No. 1 - I first saw the duck far away.
    ResizedDPR1.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS RP
    ExposureTime - 1/500 seconds
    FNumber - 10
    ISOSpeedRatings - 800
    ExposureBiasValue - 0.67
    FocalLength - 400 mm
    Lens Model - RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM

Photo No. 2 - And another time....
    ResizedDPR2.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS RP
    ExposureTime - 1/500 seconds
    FNumber - 10
    ISOSpeedRatings - 1000
    ExposureBiasValue - 0.67
    FocalLength - 400 mm
    Lens Model - RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM

Photo No. 3 - All this duck wanted to do, was sleep in this position.
    ResizedDPR3.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS 800D
    ExposureTime - 1/400 seconds
    FNumber - 11
    ISOSpeedRatings - 640
    ExposureBiasValue - 0.33
    FocalLength - 600 mm
Lens Model - TAMRON SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD A011

Photo No. 4 - Finally, I decided to give up and not wait any longer for them to wake up and be more active. Here the Eurasian Wigeon duck was taken next to the male American Wigeon duck with its green head. Sometimes the word "Wigeon" is spelled "Widgeon", as I found in my Oregon bird identification book.

Do love both sets, nicely caught😉
Edit: that Eurasian Wigeon is lost, perhaps flew the wrong way 😁

During the weekend we did get more fresh snow, so we stayed close to home for a nice stroll along the Noord-Willemskanaal.
It started with nice sunny weather, snow fall in between and the sun again after the snowfall

    Photobygms,

Thanks. I don't know the reason we occasionally see the Eurasian Wigeon ducks. I've seen them at least twice. They are so rare, that my Oregon bird identification book does not even describe them...only the American Widgeon duck.

    Photobygms,

That's nice to see all of that fresh fallen snow. It's so beautiful in sunshine with the blue sky. I liked seeing the snow at the pedestrian bridge too.
