This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

    Subject: Wetlands Flooding

Along one of our rivers, each spring the runoff from the mountains fills this wetlands area. Last month I wanted to see if it had flooded or not. It was flooded but with the dry weather we have had early this month the flooding probably has receded.

Photo No. 1 - I began to walk towards the flooded area.

Subject: Resolution Size of Resized Images Etc.

Recently someone on Dpreview was complaining that my image resolution was too small. This person also wanted me to submit them at a 16:9 format, so that he could see them fully on his HDTV. I am planning to purchase a larger monitor, so if I resized them to a higher resolution that it would be easier for me. I wanted to get some feedback. Are my resized photos large enough or should they be larger? If they are larger, by how much? I resize them to a small size, so that is easier for people to load and possibility to make it difficult for other people to take them and post them as their own images somewhere else. But with software and AI, that might have changed of what people can easily take regardless of the size.

I think it's best to stay with the 3:2 format. What do you think?

Anyway, I appreciate the feedback. One helpful individual on another forum said my resized images were a little small but were fine and "absolutely not an issue".

Did you need Wellies to cross some parts?😂 nice shots again 👍
A bout the size? I don't have any problems with the ones you posted in the past.
I use the 3:2 that our Eosses also use normally , I resize them to 3000x2000 for online use

The Easter days are almost over for us, we did enjoy an extra day off.
Used one day for a bike tour, one day for some gardening and today for a nice hike.
We visited an other military proving ground and training area, Holtingerveld near Havelte and did enjoy the nice sunny weather while hiking 😎

1214 x 814 (minus borders) - a bit too small for many users, on par with current preview images (1200px wide) here. Usually no problem for me - I look at images, not pixels; when some fine textures and/or important small details are presented, then maybe I would want more resolution.
About 3:2 vs 16:9 - it depends on image, you can't just crop something out to please random users :)
FullHD is 1920 x 1080 - you could make images 1080 pixels high, I think; this makes them 1620 pixels wide (for 3:2 format).
But if next time someone wants to see your images on 4K screen (3840x2160 on normal screens, more on cinema), what then? And there are 8K screens... :)
