This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

    Subject: Male Red-winged Blackbird

What's a better way to start off the week than with another bird? 😋 This is another photo of a male Red-winged Blackbird. If I'm fast enough, I can swing the camera around and catch this bird before it flies off. I took this almost two weeks ago.

I am on holiday in Turkey. We recently visited some ancient ruins at Amos on the western end of the country (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amos_(ancient_city)). Here is one picture from a collection I took. Small size because internet is very slow.

    Alan,

Enjoy your holiday. Thanks for the picture. I had to check to see where the ruins at Amos could be found. That's interesting. I hope you are enjoying sunny warm weather.😀 That looks like a good place with lots of sandy beaches. Thanks for the small size of the image. I do the same with resizing, since I often show many of them, so that people can view them more quickly.

It's going to be two sets with photos😁

The first set is taken on saturday during a nice relaxed 30km bike ride with sunny weather.
Visited Drents-Friese Wold National Park and followed a bike route that crosses several nature reserves
    Aekingerbroek, Aekingerzand, Doldersummerveld and Bouwersveld

    Photobygms,

I'm glad you liked seeing the spring photos. Yes, the clouds and blue sky with the reflections in the pond, all brought it to be alive with colors. The fresh green leaves helped too. Ahhhh, spring time...sure like this warmer weather. 😀

    Photobygms,

For the first set, your 30km bike ride is impressive, that you go so far. I enjoyed going on the trip with you (so-to-speak), by seeing your photos. Also seeing the horses made it interesting. You had amazing blue sky...so beautiful. 😀

    Photobygms,

For the second set, I'm glad that you continued to have good weather for your hike. The trails and spaces to walk looked really nice, without obstacles or excessive mud or water etc. That always makes it enjoyable. I liked seeing the butterfly or moth, the deer and the hawk.

You took an exceptionally nice photo of the daffodils. That is very impressive how you used the grass as a platform and the blue sky as background. Sometimes I'll do the same with tree blossoms and use the sky as a background, so that the tiny flowers and branches stand out without anything distracting. What you did, is something I hope anyone that see this, note how good it is. So the next time they find some flowers, that they find a way to present them similarly the way you did. Excellent! 👍 😀

    Photobygms,

Another thing I should mention...taking the picture of the daffodils at that angle also lets us view the flowers with it open. Daffodils will typically droop down or hang on its side, so they can be difficult to photograph. In other words they don't open up at the top like tulips. I don't know if I'll ever have an opportunity to find daffodils like that, but I will keep it in mind. Finding a day with blue sky can be hard in the spring and to find the flowers in such a spot where a photo can be presented like that, will be very difficult. Again...wow...nice bunch of pretty yellow daffodils you photographed with the blue sky. 😀

About the daffodils, they were located close to a ditch. A dry ditch so I stood in the ditch for that angle 😂

    Subject: Tulip Festival

Here's some photos I took last Saturday at a tulip festival. It was a ton of fun. Because we had good weather, there were lots of colors and this is a once-a-year event for me, I took with me four cameras and lenses. For fun I brought my old 8mp Olympus E-500 camera too. It took me a while to relearn how to use it.

I hope you like them. 😀

Photo No. 1 - This is what the festival looked like from far away. There's some telephoto compression making the Cascade Range look like it was much closer. I discovered later, that there was another tulip flower field north of here too.
