This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

    Subject Raccoons

I saw some raccoons at South Lake Tahoe on my trip to California last month.

Photo No. 1 - There were at least three raccoons in the trash.
    ResizedR8-DPR1.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS R8
    ExposureTime - 1/100 seconds
    FNumber - 4.50
    ISOSpeedRatings - 16000
    ExposureBiasValue - -0.33
    FocalLength - 35 mm
    Lens Model - RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

Photo No. 2 - I did my best to capture them in this very dark place. The photos are not the best, but you can see that I needed a very high ISO level. It was taken at night, and it was extra dark here.
    ResizedR8-DPR2.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS R8
    ExposureTime - 1/100 seconds
    FNumber - 7.10
    ISOSpeedRatings - 65535
    ExposureBiasValue - -0.33
    FocalLength - 85 mm
    Lens Model - RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

    Photo No. 3 - Again....
    ResizedR8-DPR3.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS R8
    ExposureTime - 1/100 seconds
    FNumber - 7.10
    ISOSpeedRatings - 65535
    ExposureBiasValue - -0.33
    FocalLength - 105 mm
    Lens Model - RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

Photo No. 4 - Here is another view of where the raccoon was at, when I starting taking more pictures.
    ResizedR8-DPR4.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS R8
    ExposureTime - 1/100 seconds
    FNumber - 4.50
    ISOSpeedRatings - 25600
    ExposureBiasValue - -0.33
    FocalLength - 31 mm
    Lens Model - RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

Photo No. 5 - I liked this photo better.
    ResizedR8-DPR5.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS R8
    ExposureTime - 1/50 seconds
    FNumber - 6.30
    ISOSpeedRatings - 25600
    ExposureBiasValue - -0.33
    FocalLength - 68 mm
    Lens Model - RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

All the raccoons went back to hiding in the bushes, so I did not get much more opportunity to try and improve the photos. But at least, I got a few that I could share with you. Raccoons are nocturnal creatures, so I don't often get a chance to photograph them. I have seen them a few times during the day too.

I was in Saskatchewan this week for a Christmas play. The drive back was perilous with blowing snow on the roads and temperatures hovering around around -20, but I managed to make a couple stops along the way for a few pictures.

This last one was after crossing the border back into the US. I was trying to chase this train to get ahead of it so i could pull over and get a better shot, but couldn't keep up :-(

    Mtgoatee,

I am so glad you took the time to take a few photos, despite the extremely cold temperatures. They are wonderful. I especially like the picture with the old truck.

Nice shots again @Digirame and @mtgoatee👍

@mtgoatee It\s a part of Canada I haven't visited, but it might be worth to visit and hiking late summer and Autumn.
(Have been in BC and Alberta a few years back)

I had to go out alone again, my better half wasn't feeling that great.
Went out for a longer hike again 15km in total this time. Did stay close to home.
Started at the Gasterse Duinen and went to the Balloerveld

    Photobygms,

That's amazing to hear that you traveled so far, especially with at least two cameras and two lenses. I can appreciate the distance that you covered. It seems your weather was good, just being cloudy with maybe some light rain and fog...perfectly cool for a long hike. What type of birds is that, that you caught flying?

It's a flock of Greylag geese getting ready to migrate.
The weather was typical for the season, just like you mentioned, luckily no rain, perhaps just a bit to warm (about 12c)
