This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

I have posted a few of these over in the Sunday cat thread (yes I know...) but I thought they were an interesting view of Peru, where I recently spent a couple of weeks. There were thousands of mostly uncared for street dogs

    Subject: Saturday Airshow

Last week I showed some photos of our Friday evening airshow. I took those outside the fenced area where I could take them for free. On the following day Saturday, I did go inside the fence and pay for admission. So, here are those daytime photos.

I first took some pictures of the exhibits or what they call static displays. I also took some of the airshow grounds to give you all an idea of where I was when taking these pictures. I thought this would be more interesting than just showing planes in the sky. The last photo shows that we did finally get some rain. The organizers of this event did provide some tent shelters of where I "hid" while we had some of these intermittent hard downpours. But of course, I also had my umbrellas as we cannot afford to get our equipment wet.

This time I brought with me three cameras and lenses. They were all mirrorless. This was the first time I had not used a DSLR camera at an airshow. I still believe the DSLR cameras are easier to use, when taking pictures of fast moving planes in the sky. The optical viewfinder is much brighter and clear.

    Softmarmotte,

I like seeing your pictures of the street dogs in Peru. They are well composed with sharp foregrounds and backgrounds. That's they way I like to take photos too, unless it's wildlife that's far away etc.

All I can post are a few from a hike I made this weekend 😋
I went alone this time, my better half stayed home and used our gym to do some recovery training.
The weather is still not that great, It does rain a lot again and the sun seems to be on a holiday.

    Photobygms,

I enjoy seeing your pictures during your hikes. You inspire me to take more of them. So when I am out looking for wildlife or something interesting, I'm often taking pictures similar to what you take. I'll show a few more photos of what I captured during one of my April hikes.

I liked seeing the clouds in your pictures. It was particularly nice to see the last photo that way with the band of dark clouds.

Here are a few photos from one of my April hikes. In the last picture, that is where I see Wood Ducks occasionally on the pile of branches.

You do have sunlight and blue skies 😁
Like seeing those pictures and also looks like an area where we could go for a nice hike 👍

Photobygms, yes, we have had some sunny days. It has been a little dry for us in the spring. But today we are getting some rain. I'm glad we didn't get rained out at the airshow. The airshow at that location only comes once a year. But I think the clouds & sun together look neat at an airshow, where the planes are brightly illuminated against a dark sky. I did not mind the rain either, since it did not last long. Thanks goodness that they had those tent shelters, because with enough wind sometimes the rain comes in sideways.

    Subject: Airshow Tent Shelter

Here's what the airshow tent shelters looked like. 😀 I thought they were full of some exhibits, but then I realized they must had been constructed for us. Someone was smart and thought ahead and decided to provide them for us in the event of heavy rain. At least, that is what I assumed even though they were not labeled as such..
